Dangerous Swirling Vortex Appears in Lake Texoma

I wish my tub would drain with a vortex like that. I need to put some drain cleaner in it to disolve the crud and hair in the pipe.

There is allot of limestone around there and if I had to bet I would say a cavern roof fell in and the cavern is filling up with water.... Or one of those underground bases is filling with lake water and there are a few engineers who are gonna be in big trouble !

I look at that and see danger. It is like when you flush the toilet and notice your wallet swirling around. That is a scarey feeling and of course you have to grab it.

It is interesting to imagine that may lead down to some watery mystery, eh? Nat Geo TV has had a couple shows recently about lakes draining away, and I think it usually happens when a mine blows out and opens a clear channel or nature does the same between water and caverns. One outside St Louis disappeared with a rather scary quickness (Woe! Lake begone!)

Sounds like this one was a matter of routine flood gate use to lower the lake level tho? I find it interesting...or maybe just disturbing..that they say it made a sensation when people spotted it? I can see the buoys out there in the pic, and the dams near me have no shortage of signs around the areas that have turbulence like this from flood control. How odd that people wouldn't have understood what they were seeing, if they were close enough to get a good look? You'd think that's close enough for signs too?

The way it is worded in that story and others? It sounds like it is nothing too unusual for that lake at times?
