Well, we have one war done (Iraq), one war still ongoing while we choose to be spectators (Afghanistan) and another war starting up and working hard to pull us in again (Islamic State).
What orders do the military get? 'Global Warming is a bigger threat! Go measure some ice and report back!'
Sooooo.. Global warming is backing expansionism or expansionism is simply giving the opportunity for global warming field work from soldiers?

The man has an obsession and when we start not only redirecting our entire Space Agency but also Military to climate related science work?? We need to ask...is ANYONE in Government actually doing the job they are MEANT to do?! If not..how much will it cost to have a FIGHTING military next to the science gathering one ...and how much for a real space agency next to the one playing climate scientist and social outreach to the Muslim world (top priority set for NASA in Obama's first term, for reference on outreach)
Is the EPA too busy laying royal claim to every ditch, drainage and backyrd pond in our nation to ..I dunno.. do real science anymore?
The next President, whoever it is, will have one hell of a time just getting their departments back to being what they are designed to be, and not the personal play things to use and misuse whenever the mood strikes.
Yikes!

A recent Government Accountability Office report examined the Defense Department’s role in the Arctic, which increasingly will include “monitoring the changing Arctic conditions,” such as ice levels.
The administration contends that changing ice levels in the Arctic could require additional U.S. military presence in the region, justifying the need for the Pentagon to commit significant time and resources to monitoring the effects of climate change.

President Obama in recent months increasingly has tied climate change to national security in an effort to sell his sweeping environmental agenda to a skeptical public.
