WTH, did I stumble in to Opposite Land tonight? I could have sworn this was the kind of anti-small biz stuff Republicans were adamantly against having passed?

When did these golden rules change? (makes me wonder who on Capitol Hill would be making a killing off the passage of it, too)

Yep. I want to see the ENTIRE package before it goes to the floor for a vote. Wasn't that what Obama promised us he would do back when he was first running for POTUS back in '08? That his would be the most transparent Gov't in the history of the US and he would post all bill before Congress for 30 days prior so the people could read them. Oh wait, he went back on that promise the minute after he said it. He must have had his fingers crossed or some such legal move like that. 

I think the key is to understand that NONE of them are for us, the people. ALL of them are for getting rid of anything that is not the serf class (or "proles" or "proletariat") or themselves - only two classes is what they want. Themselves, and slaves to serve themselves. It's that way among the Democrats, and it's exactly the same among the Republicans. The only differences they are having is how to best subjugate us into slavery, and how to elevate themselves yet higher. BOTH are pushing for more corporate control in America - BOTH want what is classically defined as a fascist state. I've seen nothing to indicate otherwise come out of DC for the last 25 years. Socialists, Marxists, Communists, fascists and Neo-"Capitalists" are all exactly the same at the core - they are all collectivists, aimed at exterminating individualism, in favor of collectivism. All want a collective so that they have a large pool of slaves to choose from - they only differ on what that collective should look like, how it should be presented to the slaves to avoid a slave revolt.

YES! Yes, EXACTLY! The flavor of Collectivism matters not at all, not in the slightest. Neo-"Capitalism" is as bad as Marxism is as bad as Facsism, etc. Now, what I'm calling Neo-"Capitalism" is probably more accurately called "Corporatism" - people are beginning to confuse Capitalism with Corporatism. They are redefining "free enterprise" to mean "slave enterprise", and someone, somewhere - probably a whole gaggle of someones - is doing that on purpose to promote a "New" Collectivism.

Collectivism itself is not bad per se, and a certain amount of it is necessary to the function of a free state or country. The problem is that if left unchecked, it runs rampant and starts to form a centralized cabal of controllers or a "ruling class", and it does that whether it's Marxist, Corporatist, Fascist or even Monarchial. Power in each case eventually falls into the hands of a very few people, or even ONE person, and the rest are told to "eat cake" while they are toiling away to provide for that ruling class, which is nothing more than parasitic on the vast majority.

That happens because Individualism is not jealously guarded against rampant abuse of the necessary level of Collecitivism. That is why it has been said on more than one occasion throughout the ages that "those who seek power are the very ones least suited to wielding it". They chip away and grab at the power, and centralize it (as we are seeing done at this very instant in DC, and as was done in Rome nearly 2000 years ago during IT'S collapse, and more recently in Soviet Russia during IT'S collapse - humans seem to never learn) so that the Ruling Class or Central Authority has all of the power, and the "People" or "Proletariat" (same thing - it's just a matter of how any particular system wants to promote the idea of slavery to the slaves) has none. This is because leeches have no other useful skill set than to suck blood, so that is the one they use to survive in a world where they would otherwise starve to death.

I'm all for pruning back the government, decentralizing it to something more local, and starving the bastards out. I'm in good company - Jefferson also thought that was a good idea. We rejected a distant Central Authority during the Revolution, only to eventually develop the same goddamned thing here "locally" through a serious lack of oversight of the government. It's already gotten to the point that the government thinks it can keep deals and laws "secret" from the very people those deals and laws affect the worst.

Like the secrecy shrouding Obama's "TPP", and his grab for more centralized power, centralized in HIM, via his attempt to wrest "fast track" Trade Promotion Authority entirely in himself... and keeping the entire deal secret to the point that in order to read the entire TPP agreement, even the Congress Critters that have to vote on it must jump through hoops exactly like the hoops necessary to read "Eyes Only" Top Secret documents. That all started with Nancy Pelosi during the Obamacare debates with the infamous "you've got to pass it first before you can read what's in it" - that should NEVER be in a free nation...

... and it isn't. We are no longer a Free Nation.

Nancy's only real problem with this is the power grab currently in the works cuts HER out of the loop, too.
