The order is actually for all information of any identifiable nature. So, basically, anything name, connection or IP based to give any clues for finding them after that.
So what did the bloggers say? Is this Uncle Sammy going to all new lows of violating our rights? I think this is a case of 'violation is defined by the violated' more than saying it is a clear cut case.
Oops.... People don't grasp consequence coming with 'exercising' that free speech out where the real limits DO lay sometimes. Like....threatening the life of a sitting Federal Judge. That is an outstanding way to personally meet the guys with GS ranks and see what it looks like when someone has a sense of humor removed forever, as part of their employment.
I'd even agree, this case probably defines 'Judicial Overreach' in sentencing. The guy screwed up, to be sure. Creating the largest organized black market the world has yet seen....isn't a way to get mercy at sentencing.
Oh course..this is the era of the 'Burger King' generations, and 'We will have it OUR way, or EVERYONE suffers!' attitudes on display like its a positive trait.

....and for those who were curious? There is the line, it seems. When you cross into advocating for the murder of a Federal Judge? Well....they aren't going to blow that off in a time where JUST ENOUGH people actually follow through on that sentiment to make it a very real threat to consider, IMO.

The subpoena targets users who commented on an article published on May 31st regarding a letter from Ross Ulbricht, the creator of online drug market Silk Road, pleading for leniency ahead of his sentencing for charges surrounding the site.

“It’s judges like these that will be taken out back and shot. FTFY [fixed that for you].” a user named Alan replied (emphasis in the subpoena). Another user added: “Why do it out back? Shoot them out front, on the steps of the courthouse.”
