I have suspected the same for many years. Everybody's body chemistry is different, and science readily admits they don't know HOW most of the drugs work- they just claim that they do.
When Ritalin became so popular to control high-energy kids, I thought it was a terrible idea-and still do. Kids got doped up their entire childhood, and by the time they were young adults science discovered Ritalin eats holes in the heart.

I believe prescription drugs have become more about making the greatest profit than helping people. Every new drug makes billions before it's finally proven to do more harm than good, so it's a win-win for Big Pharma.
