MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian military aircraft were scrambled to head off a U.S. warship that was acting "aggressively" in the Black Sea, state news agency RIA reported on Saturday, but the Pentagon denied any unusual behavior.
Of course, they deny. As if the Russians don't do the same as soon as they're too close to any borders out of their own...
Earlier this month, both Britain and Sweden said that they had scrambled fighters to intercept Russian bombers near their territory.
Would the Russians deny if they were caught a little too close for comfort, let's say, off the west Coast? Damn right they would.
This is what it feels like to be back into a cold war. The military doing what they're supposed to do...spying and evaluating.
Cold War Tactics is right. Sabre Rattling 101.
I kinda like it when they call these things "incidents". As we see here on road circulation signs, a reported "incident" is always better, way better, than a reported "accident".
And when it come to this Cold War, no one wishes for an "accident".
I think we can all agree on this.

The Canadian Press - This undated file photo provided by the U.S. Air Force shows a Canadian Air Force F-18 Hornet jet escorting a Russian TU-95 Bear heavy bomber out of Canadian airspace, according to U.S. military. U.S. and Canadian jets are to practise intercepting foreign aircraft high in the Arctic this week as Russian flights bordering on North American air space increase.
The Russians have started flying back close to our Northern Borders in 2007 but it dramatically increased in 2014.
U.S. Admiral William Gortney, commander of the North American Aerospace Defence Command, said the Russian military is far better equipped than its Soviet precursor and is being used to send other countries a message.
In the mean time all our defenses are North.. Radars are north from a time when anything that could attack would come from the "NORTH".. 1950s thinking.. In todays world 3s freighters with darn sa3 or even a sa2 could launch off the east and west coast (might as well throw in the gulf of Mexico too) simultaneously and at 30 miles up pop a nuclear device for EMP... There goes the grid for maybe years and years..
A sub launch within the 200 mile ADIZ and the stuff would hit the fan before anyone knew where and whom it came from.. Dangerous world we live in..
Good news is many countries have invested in America....so it would be like walking outside and burning your car because it has a flat.. something like that Hummmm

Those billionaire Russians seem to like those multi million dollar condo's in Manhattan. They should be closest to the fireball for the ultra fast burn. lol
This kind of thing has been going on forever, I would imagine some of this was going on in Vietnam as well.
Here recently I think it was the west coast their bombers were flying close and needed chased off, both of our navy's have been having quiet war games forever learning each others tactics. So far tempers have remained cool, a testament to our military officers and enlisted training.
