So.. What happened with the Phoenix protest?

Well... A lot of very serious Americans showed up and expressed their growing dislike, if not hatred for Islam as a whole. It isn't a happy or festive topic for a protest. Not like Occupy, where the camp I was in represented one of many with families and kids present. No...Phoenix was no place for children last night. I'd say the threat of violence was strong...yet...in the end? What happened?

Nothing.
ISIS showed they can attack an event in Texas when it shocks everyone and no one is truly ready for it..so they think they can succeed.
However, when the target is more hardened than a friggen school or public hoo-hah with people in Texas? A yellow stripe of pure cowardice as wide as their line of B.S. seems to show.
This is the original story that got my attention............
Yes it is proof of tyranny in America, and it wouldn't bother me one bit if an ISIS punk saw my words on the issue, either. This is America where we can say whatever we choose to say ...and to be very blunt about this? If you feel the need to DO something about it? We can shoot you for it, and plant your sorry intolerant butt right where it lands, too.
The protesters in Phoenix were heavily armed, and strong with recent veterans of combat. ISIS people knew, I'd imagine, they would get their ticket to paradise and likely never kill anyone in the process.
Yet....all their threats...for nothing, and they hoped the terror of threat alone would be enough I think. (The terror of their approach in other places..DOES have that effect..so don't laugh off that thought too quick)
That is fair enough, I'd think. If it wasn't for the fact Jihadis were willing to murder innocent people over opinion...I might agree the protest there needed protested for being hateful. Still..That IS the American way. We protest what we dislike, even if it is another protest. We don't outlaw expression, and we don't kill people for merely expressing an opinion...however much we may hate the opinion being shared. It's a system with an inner strength I don't think people from cultures without it can often comprehend....much like their cultural norms can be beyond understanding to us, to be fair.

They'll go try and jump the guy in private and likely many to one to get him ..but don't have the balls to stand and fight where plenty were armed and in the mood to give them the fight they so badly claim to want. They were a short drive from the open Mexican border, where an ISIS training facility is said to exist, too.
I sense cowardice here alright......and very deep, profound cowardice. The kind that seems to flow in tyrannical regimes of the past, too. Dramatic brutality and overwhelming violence ..to cover cowardice.
Indeed.
PHOENIX —About 250 mostly armed anti-Muslim demonstrators — many wearing T-shirts bearing a profanity-laced message denouncing Islam — faced-off against a roughly equally sized crowd defending the faith in front of a Phoenix mosque Friday night.
Violence never broke out, but the clash was often heated, as demonstrators yelled and taunted one another across a line of police separating the two sides.

The terror group ISIS (Islamic State or ISIL) is using social media to threaten those who may decide to go to the “Freedom of Speech Rally Round II” in Phoenix that has made national headlines.
The Islamic radicals have specifically targeted the event’s organizer, Jon Ritzheimer, but added that they’d kill anyone who actually attended the event itself.

The ex-Marine who organized an anti-Muslim rally outside the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix Friday evening said he’s going into hiding after receiving several death threats.
“This is proof tyranny is in America,” said Jon Ritzheimer, revealing he's come under siege since taking to Facebook to organize the event.

The latest rally also included a Prophet Muhammad cartoon drawing contest, which drew plenty of people protesting the protest by holding signs with messages like "Love not hate" and "Stop the hate."

Usama Shami, the president of the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix, hugged a Christian pastor from a nearby church who came in support.
The two sides faced off before protesters were separated with yellow tape and police in riot gear.
