They have some nerve here. They can protest to the Heavens how their limp leadership hasn't caused a good part of the crisis we see there....and I believe it has, but the core issue isn't even THAT. It is something more basic, and something we can HONESTLY say IS Bush's fault, so why so hesitant to run with it this time? Perhaps because Bush created it, but Obama took it to the next level, as with so many other things.
Still...This is pathetic to suggest.
Oh really? We're not? Well, then I won't have any problem understanding next time, when a nation in crisis embraces who we consider an enemy...because they see US as MORE dangerous to be close to.

When I say we DID cause this nightmare, I don't mean "we made ISIS"...or "we made Al Qaeda". We couldn't even run a civil occupation in a vastly inferior nation for tech and support options, without being all but thrown out by force in 2010. Talk about a disaster on that....and we've heard this 'We'll train them' B.S. FOR HOW MANY YEARS NOW?
How long does it take to turn an Iowa farmboy with a simple education into a fighting Marine ready to be a life taker and heart breaker? 4 months? 6? I mean from boarding the bus for boot to the time they stand in formation with their first line unit.
How is it, we cannot train them? Are Iraqi's inferior? IS THE LEFT GOING TO SUGGEST A PEOPLE IS INFERIOR TO US?? Oh...I'd have a rightgasm on the spot if they'd EVER be THAT honest about their own prejudices in public.

I submit we caused this outcome from the day forces cross the berm in 2003. We systematically stripped a nation of all means it had to mount a national defense in depth, as a matter of policy. We then fragged and destroyed their military equipment as one of the first orders of business. Sure..it wasn't M1-A1 level good. Hardly...but right now? I'll bet the Iraqi struggling to keep his magazine carrier loaded for rifle ammo would LOVE the T-72's or BMPs we toasted in the name of a 'new beginning'.
The US then spent 7 years...from '03 to 2010, "training" this army..or some such crap. It has never stood in a way befitting the term Army...but perhaps unusually well organized Militia. (sigh)
Now failure to train isn't enough to say we OWN this disaster, and it was FORESEEABLE over a decade ago. No..We need BOTH parts of this to say it is OUR fault. We failed to train .. AFTER ... WE were the tool to strip them of all means of organized defense, in a region where weakness is simply exploited to death, and always has been.
We broke it...now we blame them for failing to reassemble what we broke. Well....that's a crock of crap on a moldy cracker, in my book. They can lie, and make it sound good..but the lies won't mean a damn thing when the rubber meets the road next time for support and access to handle another crisis of international proportion. They'll rightly ask......will we leave them to die when we're done?
Still...This is pathetic to suggest.
The White House on Thursday, in no uncertain terms, put the onus on the Iraqis to fight and defeat the Islamic State -- even as a new report warned foreign fighters are flocking to the battlefield at a historic and dangerous pace.
"The United States is not going to be responsible for securing the security situation inside of Iraq," Press Secretary Josh Earnest told Fox News.

"Our strategy is to support the Iraqi security forces in doing what we will not do for them," he said. "The United States is prepared to train them, to equip them, and to back them on the battlefield with coalition military air power as they take the fight to ISIL in their own country."
