I do wonder...why do we have fits and anxiety attacks over NBC weapons (Nuclear-Bio-Chem for those not familiar with that term) when our own Government sends out live biological weapons material frequently enough now to comment on???

yay! Way to go Pentagon! At this rate, they'll NEED those field test kits which these samples were supposed to be used to design. They'll be infecting enough people through sheer 'stupid' to need those tests in cleaning up their OWN silly mess.
This isn't the first time, after all!

This one wasn't Anthrax, but that didn't help the animals killed in the process of discovering what had happened...and before it infected or killed any humans.

It IS important to mention something about Anthrax, and it is something the media damn sure won't say...as they have a full party of doom porn on the subject. (sigh)
If you search the site here: Disease Outbreak Tracking and you select Anthrax from the search menu at the top? You will get several pages of Anthrax related hits just going back to 2010 or so. Anthrax is among the most common biologic warfare agent ALSO seen infecting people in the 'wild' on a regular basis.
The trick with Anthrax isn't exposure to natural forms of it, because, again, it happens. Many many times a year, in nations all over the world (including this one). When it is weaponized...THEN...it is designed to spread and carry on the air to be truly lethal as a weapon of war.
Short of that? Don't eat it...don't use it as a topical beauty cream or something, especially with open cuts..lol..and I'm being a little simplistic here, but that is ALMOST enough advice to stay safe with the natural varieties of it.
Federal health officials say they are investigating the accidental shipment of live anthrax bacteria to labs in nine states. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirms that it's investigating the accidental shipments.
No one's been sickened by the bacteria, which can cause potentially deadly illness although it's easily treated with antibiotics if caught soon enough.
"CDC is investigating the possible inadvertent transfer of a select agent from the U. S. Department of Defense (DOD) to labs in nine states. At this time we do not suspect any risk to the general public," CDC said in a statement sent to NBC News.

The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are investigating how a Frederick research institute mistakenly shipped live anthrax bacteria to a California lab where at least five people were exposed to the potentially deadly germs.

And an official of the World Health Organization’s European operation said the body is closely monitoring the investigation into the events that took place at Baxter International’s research facility in Orth-Donau, Austria.
“At this juncture we are confident in saying that public health and occupational risk is minimal at present,” medical officer Roberta Andraghetti said from Copenhagen, Denmark.
“But what remains unanswered are the circumstances surrounding the incident in the Baxter facility in Orth-Donau.” The contaminated product, a mix of H3N2 seasonal flu viruses and unlabelled H5N1 viruses, was supplied to an Austrian research company. The Austrian firm, Avir Green Hills Biotechnology, then sent portions of it to sub-contractors in the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Germany.
The contamination incident, which is being investigated by the four European countries, came to light when the subcontractor in the Czech Republic inoculated ferrets with the product and they died. Ferrets shouldn’t die from exposure to human H3N2 flu viruses.
