@wrabbit2000,
Have I mentioned lately that figuring out computer problems is just the greatest joy of my life? No? Yeah, that's what I thought because I'd never say that in a million years.
Btw, I discovered your brethren had built quite the cozy palace at the base of my computer. I regret to inform you that they were given a notice of eviction and were escort right on out the door. Yes, I know that I'm rude.
Hmmm... Mixed reviews on this, now that I have had real time to play it.
The graphics are beautiful, but Surround or 3 screen doesn't appear to be supported. At least I can't get it to recognize and make use of the triple monitor set-up. That is odd, as Far Cry 3 supported it with some spatial issues..but still, it was supported. That is actually a major disappointment when almost $800 has gone into monitors for my set up. I didn't get them for gaming...but it's annoying when I can't enjoy a very nice looking game on them as a fringe benefit of having them.
Also, this game is definitely NOT just open world in the same way FC 3 is (and it suffered from this too in one way) or anything like Just Cause 2. This has a real set and linear order of missions that it appears I must accomplish to move to new areas as well as progress overall. You're free to move around the segment of world you have access to without following the line..but it's core to the game in a way that feels oppressive when I buy games like this for the open world, open choice nature of them.
I will say the towers are a bit easier than I found in FC 3 and where a couple were something just a hair shy of impossible to figure out for the longest time. These are tricky, but not in the same way, and it makes it more enjoyable. There are also natural hazards often found nearby to clear enemy around the towers...(hint..bee hives are lethal when disturbed)
FC 4 also has a really neat feature for the sneaky player like me, who enjoys sowing chaos, but not necessarily direct gun fights. Some animals drop meat to be used as bait, and outside missions? Bait brings predators. It is thrown like a grenade, (some distance away) and the predators naturally attack anything nearby after eating the bait chunk. In some areas, what comes can clear an outpost by itself. lol....
So, it has ups and downs..oh and the gyrocopter is really fun, but takes a little getting used to.

The only block I've run into was the "Key to the North" blocking off the Northern section of the country. Other than that, I've not had any issues going anywhere else on the map.
The Buzzers (choppers) are pretty fun. My fiance and I found that you can jump from them as passenger and glide/parachute to the next location and then, grapple back on up. Flying while grappled, however, is ill advised as the grappled player starts swinging....
(sigh) Oh, someone save me from game companies who love their own cut scenes a bit too much....
There is a spot in the game I'm not getting through (the Willis mission where you have to wingsuit through the canyon..and I'm just not getting it after the 50th time) so I reset the game to start over. One of the big hassles with FC-4 are the cut scenes that cannot be aborted, and they can be lengthy. It doesn't matter if you've seen them before (I can understand some games forcing the first viewing for story line), so the resets are hassles by the opening cut scene alone. Time consuming is an accurate term for it, actually.
When I last restarted, I lost track of time and it apparently sat too long because I had just shut it down last night, not quite knowing why the intro had ended with the main menu again. It seems I actually found a secret ending....which is cool in one way. It replays right now, and I suppose it will until I start yet another new game (with the cut scenes again). I just wish finding it didn't mean having to repeat the process of starting.
Anyway...I went looking to see what happened and found a Youtube of what the game did when I hadn't gotten back to it in time last night. Again..kinda cool, except you have just one linear game running at once, so to break out of playing this ending over and over...a new game is the only choice.
The actual new ending starts at 5:00 if people want to skip the start of the game for time passing. It could be called a Spoiler tho..so don't say I didn't warn ya.

@wrabbit2000,
Yeah, you can't zip through the launch "ads" either, which I always find personally annoying. You got stuck on the mission wingsuit through the canyon part? I actually enjoyed that mission. Was your wingsuit closing on you randomly? We have had that happen to us a few times now and then. Haven't had a chance to play for a few but we were doing this technique to clear maps where we used a chopper and the passenger would bail and wingsuit/chute to the next spot while the pilot hovered to be grappled up to. I kept falling short of my targets...randomly.
lol, hope it's not something that gets broken in the game that doesn't fix itself because we're nearly through it if I had to guess so restarting would be not cool.
I just finished it. Whew... I'm going to go back through it playing the other side of the faction tree. Obviously, there is definite consequence to which side is taken, and working for Amita sucked for how it turned out. I have a feeling Sabal won't turn out quite the same end. Anyway...

It is a fun game.
Shhhhhh!! We're currently playing all the Christmas modes in games so FC4 is on hold. Though the Amita line sucking is not a great surprise--kind of saw that one coming from a mile away, lol.
