Calif. Vaccination Bill Headed for Full Senate Vote

Update!

It passed....exemptions would seem to be on their way out in California.



This started showing up about a short time ago on news wires.

Hmm... It should be interesting to see how the people who feel strongly about this, handle it. I think the people who DO feel strongly, tend to take this issue as one of life's few absolute stands to make. 

I'm never going to go to California even to visit. I can't take the flu shot. I know it could kill me and this is verified by doctors over the years. I have never denied taking the shot for religious reasons, I deny it because of real health issues. Now,who determines if your issues are good enough, who gets to play god and force people to do something that could kill them. I doubt if my issue with the shot is even written on any records at all, they never wrote stuff like that down. All they did was to check a box refused. If I knew it and they knew it, then why does it need to be written down?

Yeah, I'd be on the next flight out of California. I'll suffer no man, doctor or not, to stab me on purpose, for any reason.

My sister is a nurse, and SHE is against these vaccines, on medical grounds. That's good enough for me.

yes, I still have that scar, and I'll carry it to the grave, I suppose. As far as what vaccines and boosters I got when i was a child, before I had any say in it, I can't recall. MMR was probably not one of them, though. I say that because folks were a bit worried that I'd get Rubella, which is the "R" there, during an outbreak of it in the 60's. I doubt that worry would have been present had I already been injected with that virus previously. There was discussion of whether I was vulnerable or not, since I had already had measles.



My scar was caused by an injection "gun" that was supposed to drive the virus THROUGH your skin using a blast of air pressure. No damned wonder it scarred us all up!

Well, I wouldn't have to get vaccinated for the measles anyhow. I had measles as a kid, and so am now truly immune, rather than artificially "immune", which is what vaccinations confer. That's why you hear about "booster shots" - vaccines don't work right, or confer a genuine immunity. They actually work against actual immunity by conferring the artificial and temporary immunity on folks who would otherwise develop an actual immunity. That is eventually going to return to bite us all in the ass. With all the vaccinations that are going around now, I fear it's going to bite us in the ass really HARD.



It's been my observation that flu shots, for example, actually GIVE the flu far more often than they prevent it. That's not something I'd pay money for, even if they could manage to get it in me without stabbing me to do it. Worse than that, perhaps, is that they convey a false sense of security. Flu vaccines are develops and distributed for ONE strain of flu per year, guessed at by folks who create such things the year before. If it doesn't GIVE you that strain of flu this year, it still leaves you vulnerable - and unaware of that - to all of the other strains out there. If they guess wrong as to which strain to vaccinate for, it's almost funny watching it not work... if it wasn't for the fact that people, especially old folks like me, DIE from that mistake, never knowing that they were even vulnerable. After all, they GOT their flu shots, didn't they? Why would they still be susceptible? they die never knowing.

I'd rather take my chances.

It's a fallacy to think you can protect people from themselves or someone else. If you are for vaccinations then go get one, with this rational if you are vaccinated then you are immune to anyone not vaccinated. That pretty much settles it. Protecting children from the evils of parents thinking they shouldn't vaccinate their children is no different than belting them in when going for a ride. Just because there is a law that says you have to wear seat belts and not talk or text on the phone means nothing. People do what they want regardless of what some phony politician puts down on paper. 

We need to get over this idea we can fix everything for everyone with a new law. So those that want vaccinations knock yourself out, now you're protected from the evils of parents that don't want their kid vaccinated.

We have already seen what a fine example of the way the federal government handles infectious disease.
