This story shocks me. Are we so simple minded out here, that they believe we fall for this kind of tripe? Here is the headline today....
Syria crisis: Turkey and Saudi Arabia shock Western countries by supporting anti-Assad jihadists
Shocked?? Shocked how?? Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar have been behind the Anti-Assad movement (and END of the Shia reality of political power anywhere) since the protests started wayyyy back.
How about this little headline set from 2007??
Imagine that? We didn't always kiss the tail of one of the leaders of state sponsored terrorism in the world today (That would be Iran..with their state supported proxy wars) Don't leave Saudi out tho!

The only thing to have changed from that story ...is the nature of the American President. We had a strong one...however wrong he may have been in actions...to be replaced by a weak one backstabbing everyone in sight.
Oh...but there is more to put the "shock" statement to outright lies. Perhaps it is the double crossing nature of our OWN actions which shocks?? Other nations aren't as quick to flip 180 degrees on historic alliances ...for political expediency.

The only thing this Administration can be trusted on ....is how far it CANNOT be trusted on anything.
Oh...but I did say the SAUDI's go back to the start of protests..huh? I recall watching them start, and reading things from groups like the People's Liberation Front, calling for members to rally around the Free Syrian Army forming at the time in Syria, to bring Arab Spring changes to Damascus. Of course...that was NOT what was really happening ...as we know now by hindsight.
Indeed, it has.
Indeed...there were. Reported by some at the time, but very much buried among the cries for change, because change was the 'cool thing' to call for back then. (rolls eyes)
Source: Who is Behind the Protest Movement?
Indeed...Saudi was.
In fact, for those watching Cryptome carefully in the months which followed, there were decidedly NON-Humanitarian supplies crated and photographed by FSA units in Syria, to brag over their bounties and treasures ...bestowed by Saudi Arabia and Oman.
So.....If the West is shocked by anything, it ought to be that every country isn't as slimy and prone to backstab as we've become. The positions nations hold today are WHAT THEY HAVE ALWAYS HELD. The only player to have changed stripes.....is us.
The world looks real weird when reality flips on its head, and we're supposed to believe it was actually a necessary correction.

The Bush administration has admitted that covert actions of an aggressive nature were applied against Iran and Syria. The stated objective was to wreck the countries’ economies and currency systems. The infamous Iran-Syria Policy and Operations Group (ISOG) created in early 2006, integrated by officials from the White House, the State Department, the CIA and the Treasury Department, had a mandate to destabilize Syria and Iran, and bring about “Regime Change” :

Other channels used by US intelligence in funding terrorism is through Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States, where foundation money is funneled to various militant Islamic groups on behalf of Uncle Sam. “Some former CIA officers say the arrangement [with regard to Jundullah] is reminiscent of how the U.S. government used proxy armies, funded by other countries including Saudi Arabia, to destabilize the government of Nicaragua in the 1980s [reminiscent of the Iran-Contra affair].” (Ibid)

The U.S. money for Syrian opposition figures began flowing under President George W. Bush after he effectively froze political ties with Damascus in 2005. The financial backing has continued under President Obama, even as his administration sought to rebuild relations with Assad. In January, the White House posted an ambassador to Damascus for the first time in six years.
The cables, provided by the anti-secrecy Web site WikiLeaks, show that U.S. Embassy officials in Damascus became worried in 2009 when they learned that Syrian intelligence agents were raising questions about U.S. programs. Some embassy officials suggested that the State Department reconsider its involvement, arguing that it could put the Obama administration’s rapprochement with Damascus at risk.

The Western media has presented the events in Syria as part of the broader Arab pro-democracy protest movement, spreading spontaneously from Tunisia, to Egypt, and from Libya to Syria.
Indeed, it has.
Media coverage has focused on the Syrian police and armed forces, which are accused of indiscriminately shooting and killing unarmed “pro-democracy” demonstrators. While these police shootings did indeed occur, what the media failed to mention is that among the demonstrators there were armed gunmen as well as snipers who were shooting at both the security forces and the protesters.

The Daraa “protest movement” on March 18 had all the appearances of a staged event involving, in all likelihood, covert support to Islamic terrorists by Mossad and/or Western intelligence. Government sources point to the role of radical Salafist groups (supported by Israel)
Other reports have pointed to the role of Saudi Arabia in financing the protest movement.
