Forgive me I do not get western news and to be honest I rarely watch T.V. This video talks about the protest in Mexico (BIG) and the people wanting to "out" the corrupt president... Then the last part shows some other protest around the world.. Short video that the validity from where I am can not be verified... Interesting especially about Mexico and the students that were killed...

This case with the students was just over the top for ruthless, vicious and brutal. Even by the standards of the virtual civil war they've been fighting down there for years now. This one set new levels of animalistic crimes. The people have apparently said 'this far and *NO* further'. I'm thrilled to see it and say its about time. I wish the Mexicans all the good luck they can manage, as anything good for Mexico is also good for us.

Those poor people deserve a rest, anyway. The death count was upwards of 70,000 dead over the course of the war the last time I'd looked and that was quite some time ago. Last Spring..I think? It's been incredible for the near blackout on it by U.S. Media, given it's happening right along our land border.

I agree with you, Wrabbit;it is horrendous what is going on south of our borders, and not a word is said.

I cannot even begin to understand why that situation seems to be considered inconsequential to the US.Why is ISIS the biggest Boogey Man we know?

We have MILLIONS of 'undocumented' aliens in America, yet not one word of concern that a 'few' of them might have the same mindset as Mexican cartels.

It makes me wonder if there isn't some kind of long-term agenda being played out?

Whatever is going on certainly isn't good for South America OR North America.

Every once in awhile there will be some small mention of radical Islamists arriving in S.America. I would think that might want our government to have the ability to monitor our borders as rigidly as we monitor IRS tax forms. :)

I've heard trickles in the news online about what's going on, but you're right, it's practically a blackout. It's like the news media available to the US is propping up that "No one else is under threat except us" bubble Americans live in.
If it's at all based on some kind of clandestine policies towards other countries/cultures, I'm betting dollars to donuts discussions go something like this & probably are just as juvenile:

Mexico/Central America:
*Pros -- Tacos, Mayan pyramids, tequila, bananas, coffee.
*Cons -- Drugs. Drugs are bad, m'kay? Send the Coast Guard to patrol for that.

Middle East:
*Pros -- None. Other than oil.
*Cons -- Evil Muslims, all of them. DESTROOOOY, DESTROOOOY(then take their resources)

We do have a real bad habit of simplifying matters to the point where it isn't just 'simplified' anymore...It's dumbed down to appeal to people without a basic high school education level. (sigh)

When I started my journalism courses, the first one was clear about that and it came as such a slap to my thinking prior to that, I'll never forget it. They simply state it like this..... The news and entertainment industry in North America gauges its level of content to a 10th grade level. That is what Hollywood and Washington believe to be the average level of intelligence for Americans and, naturally, average means as many below that basic standard as above it.

Depressing.... It really is. It was more so as I went to proving that wrong somehow, and came to actually show 10th grade level was an IMPROVEMENT. There had been a time where the official thinking ran closer to 6th. grade.
