Genocide is a term many a person throw around with casual abandon. As if any large case of deaths during war is Genocide. It isn't. It isn't remotely close. A million could be slaughtered with as much disregard as the Japanese took at Nanking, and it still isn't Genocide. It's a disgusting example of how far humanity can be drilled out of a human being in military uniform, but still, not Genocide.
Genocide has a definition, and it is a specific one. I find Mr. Merriam and Mr. Webster helpful to ask, so lets see what they say on this, eh?
A million deaths isn't Genocide, unless the systemic purpose to that slaughter is an outcome of cleansing the land of a specific sub-type of person.
That seems to be what ISIS is setting about doing here. Not by millions....yet...but only by their lack of ability, not the apparent lack of will.

In my view, a war with Americans is a war with more bodies than we care to bury back home. We don't have the heart, ability, or frankly, balls to fight on the terms this requires to win, and NOT have our heads handed back to us with a black flag on the side bar. Our Military has the ability. The leadership does not. The Political leadership above THAT couldn't define courage without using 'ol Merriam Webster themselves.
Some may scoff at this, and I ask you to imagine a scenario ...because ISIS is fully capable of it, if they think to do it. Imagine a large Iraqi force with American leadership, or even a kick ass oriented American force with full American staffing, sitting outside an ISIS stronghold, waiting on GO to kick some depraved butt back to the happy lands.
...then say ISIS makes a statement and a single demand. *LEAVE*. Nothing more. Nothing less. Something similar to the allied response at Bastogne, when a surrender was demanded by the Germans. One word (Nuts, as supposedly replied in that case), can say everything ...or leave idiots in confusion as to what it could mean.
Next, say ISIS realizes we're too damned dumb to appreciate subtlety and so they show the world, what American intransigence has brought?
.....What does the world ..and more importantly, what does American Political Leadership do....when ISIS executes 1,000 or 2,000 women and children (of a side they hate ..so its livestock, not people, to those animals) to punctuate the point, and give us a second chance to *LEAVE*?
1,000 heads of women and kids sent out to the American commanding officer? ....I think Washington would not only order them to *LEAVE* that AOR, but don't slow down the strategic retreat until boots are back in Kuwait and Jordan as the closest point.
ISIS is crossing into true and honest Genocide, and this isn't a term that fits the events more than a handful of times across history recent enough to care about. They NEED stopped ...and I think its time we simply make clear, our troops are not for this fight, but our support can be limitless to those who will do what it takes to win against these barbarians.
it takes monsters...to kill monsters...sometimes. Lets support the hell out of the best and most vicious monsters outside ISIS ...to go kill ISIS. Then let the nations those victorious monsters belong to, deal with that in the peacetime aftermath.

On Friday the so-called Sharia Court of the Islamic State group (IS/ISIS) reportedly executed 600 hostages from the Yezidi community of Shingal (Sinjar) in the Talafar district in northern Iraq.
The group piled the bodies into the well of Alo Antar on al-Ayyadiya highway, local sources reported.
