"Google has joined the search for the Loch Ness Monster by taking its Street View cameras across the famous Scottish loch. It sent teams to take pictures both above and below the waterline to help armchair Nessie hunters to explore the area. Google said the development was to mark the anniversary of the release of the Surgeon's Photograph - a 1934 hoax image claiming to show the monster in the misty waters of the lake."
Google continues to amaze me. Some of the things they do and create shows and interesting side to them. I don't agree with a lot of things they do, especially when it comes to the government and letting them have access to their collected information. But still by and large they are a company that puts it's money where it's mouth is in terms of innovation. I can't say how much I really love google earth, their maps, etc. etc. it is very handy. I try not to use their search so much because like everything they do they track everything we do constantly.
"When I saw this I was surprised they would spend the money and time to map this both underwater and on top of the water.
"It took Google around a week to take the photographs, with a diver being used to take the Street View Trekker camera under the waterline, before attaching it to a boat for the above-water shots. Loch Ness is the largest Scottish loch by water volume, containing more fresh water than all the lakes of England and Wales combined. Google says there are more searches for Loch Ness than the likes of Buckingham Palace."
I guess its only because IF they spot it, THEY will get the credit for it. Nothing else imo as Google doesnt exactly need popularity!
Personally, I used to beleive Nessie existed but with all the attention this story got since i was a kid, I think it was likely made up of the poor thing died years ago. There is no way there could be a creature this large in a known lake, with today technology, without being found! We would have a least a decent picture of it!
Cant say the same about the oceans though! these are much much bigger and deeper and we havent explored the deepest parts so who knows!
You don't have a soul. You are a soul, you have a body!
