I wasnt sure if it was just me seeing this, but was wondering if there was a way to see the new thread bar with the OP as opposed to the last person writing in it? Sometimes I will get excited about the thread and click it, and they werent the actually writer of the thread, just the last person to write IN it.

Due to technicalities, it's not easy just to change "one thing"

It's a lot more involved evidently and not much we (he) can do to change the setup

I'm afraid so, and I'm sorry I'm just seeing this now to post. Your request had been something we were discussing.

Unfortunately, what we use now is made up of a couple different independent parts, and they draw off the original Hernandos RSS feed linked at the bottom of the general forum list page/home page.

If that RSS feed could be changed in how it outputs the raw RSS file? Then the rest could be adjusted to that. Its a part of Proboards though. So, while incredibly useful as it is, it isn't something I believe we can change in that way.
