Ahh.. Yes.. Mr. Responsibility. What civic minded action, to step right up and take credit for murdering two Western hostages. One of them, American. Ooops....
Oh..I see... So going off half cocked with bad intel to zap bad guys from high altitude and HOPE no one else is in the target zone is ....fully consistent with guidelines?
yeah..That's the problem. Conducting war without the balls to be a warrior about it. The wrong people die when war is done by remote control, at 10,000 feet.

So...this is the second incident I'm aware of where U.S. efforts directly led to the killing of Western hostages. Wow.... I don't know what to say. Perhaps the neglect and purging of talent has led to this coming from what is left? I DO know that killing hostages wasn't a common event before this era of our nation. In fact, when the commander of the newly formed Delta Force unit was asked, in front of Carter in the Oval Office, how many hostages they figured they'd lose in the Iran rescue mission? They told him NONE. Rather pointedly. I recall the account in print having said the commander very clearly stated Delta trains day and night to NOT lose hostages. Not one. EVER.
Now? I don't know which is more helpful if you are captured overseas? Praying for rescue...or praying to be forgotten about entirely?
Weinstein, an American held by al Qaeda since 2011, and Giovanni Lo Porto, an Italian national held by al Qaeda since 2012, were killed in a January operation in the border region of Afghanistan and Pakistan, the White House said. The operation targeted an al Qaeda-associated compound and there was no reason to believe either hostage was present at the location, the White House said.
Obama said the mission was “fully consistent” with guidelines for conducting counterterrorism missions in the region.
“It is a cruel and bitter truth that in the fog of war generally and our fight against terrorists specifically mistakes, sometimes deadly mistakes, can occur,” Obama said. “But one of the things that sets America apart from many other nations, one of the things that makes us exceptional is our willingness to confront squarely our imperfections and to learn from our mistakes.”

Weinstein was an American humanitarian aid worker who was abducted from his home in Lahore, Pakistan on August 13, 2011. He earned a doctorate degree from Columbia University in 1970, according to reports.
