I have findeth the oasis! 
Well, more like pointed in it's direction by a lovely member (thanks to you, by the way!)
I see a lot of familiar faces here! And some I don't recognize off the bat, though I'm sure I'll figure out who's who soon enough.
A brief random assortment about me:
I'm a born Michigander who moved to south Florida very young and grew up there. I lived there long enough to technically be a native, growing up in the Tampa Bay area. Recently, we picked up & moved back to Michigan and I'm having trouble figuring out why my parents ever left (sort of, I do know why -- to be near my late paternal grandparents)
I met my Mr. Nyiah a decade ago, and we've been married for 8 years. Fun fact -- there's a 12.5 year gap in our ages. We hear the "robbing the cradle" jokes a lot. I like to tell people we got married because no one else was stupid enough to put up with his ornery old butt (rofl)
We have 2 kids (5 & 6) and a squirrely Orange Tabby cat. We had 2 others, but one was my cat since middle school, whom died of major old age earlier this year (in his 20's) and the other was recently euthanized up here due to very serious health issues that suddenly slammed her out of nowhere (cancer, among one of them)
I like to amuse myself with taking pictures of pretty much anything (prefer to try to hone my lacking photog skills with nature pictures) I'm also a huge Trekkie. Really huge. I often have to stop myself from linking ST issues that mirror real ones in threads. I'm big on astronomy, dig astrophysics & quantum physics (even if I don't understand every last thing) and hope to high heck we have space tourism within the range of affordable before I kick the bucket someday, because I want a shot at seeing the Earth from LEO myself. It's a bucket list thing if it ever culminates.
I'm still poking around the forum theme settings (background) and trying to settle on one. It's amazing how time-consuming something as simple as trying to decide on a color theme is o.O That and I'm indecisive. I can decide on what clothes to wear in a snap, but a forum theme, nawp, that's Big Stuff. So I best get back to that and settle on one, otherwise I'll never get beyond an intro post :)
