OK Gals and Guys, See That Ominous Looking Tab with the Gear. Good! Now Click it and see what you have. Yes if you press the " Select Post " you've just selected this post, now you can also "Deselect Post" my clicking on Deselect Post. Good now you can go to every post in a thread and click "Select Post" if you want to move or delete those post when you've decided on your Course of Action, or you can just Move or Delete this post.
OK, So, Click on Select Post and go down to "Moderate", when you over over Moderate you see the actions you can take. Normally, we select "Move Post" and the "Only This Post" ( you see that you can move all the post above or just post you've use the "Select Post" tab on ) now once you've chosen Move Post and Only This Post, Click on "Only This Post" and you'll be directed to an area already created for this purpose.
Just Play around my friends, you can't hurt anything.
d_hJZfC8t2FrknI9TjHM I woke up and started doing it to myself again. (No! Not that Dirk!) Questioning myself. I took a step back and poured a cup of coffee and took a deep breath.
Gotta slow down a bit I think as for some reason it took a bit to find the "Gear" with my sleep addled brain. LOL I think I'll get the hang of it. I just have to give myself time and practice what I preach.
Obviously I didn't do it, but if I had selected the Questions and Answers thread under the moderate tab, that's where this thread would go, correct?
I didn't do anything as I want the others to have a chance to play around a bit as well.
BTW...what does "enable falling" mean? I already do that quite well on my own.
Beware the man who has one gun, he probably knows how to use it.
Doug, Very Good, Yes you can actually click on " Discussion For Staff " Then at the bottom of the page click Move Post, as you see, there's never any changes made any where without you Finalizing The Change, So you can Back Out if you don't want to make the change.
You also noticed that you can move a thread or post to the proper area if asked by the OP or you feel it's in the wrong place, but always let the Author ( OP ) know.
While I am the best looking, best dancing mod, I must admit that I am probably the weakest mod here when it comes to technical things.
I know how to play Candy Crush and Solitaire on the computer and can roughly figure out stuff, but I don't want anyone ever to feel overwhelmed by all of this.
If an idiot like myself can moderate, then I wouldn't be worried.
The admin tab on the top bar will notify you if there is a mod issue.
I mangled and tortured a thread one time just playing with the mod features, but it was MY thread, so no harm was done.
Relax, ban a few people who disagree with you, and it'll all be goo-, wait, what?
So if I click the gear, click moderate, and click delete po---
OH GOD, NO! I poofed Wrabbit from existence! He's not even in this thread! OMG, we're dooooomed without the tech bunny! The sky is falling, the sky is falling!
(Kidding, I clicked nada, only looked at the mod options available )
Queen of English Language Mangling, Master of the Edit button
"Falling" sets whether the newer posts are at the bottom of the thread or the top. Right now, they're set with the OP at the top and the most recent thread at the end.
If you ever feel that, or anything else, should be changed, just mention it.
Thanks Charles...some one finally answered that question. I was about to post it again. I don't see me ever needing that tab, but I guess it's always nice to have a tool handy for the one time you need it.
My self pity party is now over and my mind is reset. Wait a minute, this reset button is the one Hillary gave the Russians! I've been REGIFTED! fm522295c4
