Thank you, @guohua. I'm going to tell my mother about this corn juice. She gets UTI every once in a while. Her system is so very sensitive! She'll be glad to find a natural alternative because antibiotics disagree with her.
My chiropractor just gave me a tens unit on my last visit. Yes, he just GAVE it to me! I think he felt sorry for me. He had mentioned selling me one several times, but I told him I could barely afford the co-pay, so I couldn't buy it. So, on my last visit, he told me not to worry about paying; said what my insurance paid would be sufficient. I was very happy because I love these things! He said you only need to be careful about making sure the unit wasn't turned all the way up when you apply the pad; start low and then turn the dial up to a comfortable level.
I'm running over to his office every month it seems from straining my back. This last time I really did a number on it! I had to go on light duty at work, which is something I've never done in 15 years!
Test the battery pack of the TENS unit to make sure it is fully charged. The TENS unit has 2 control knobs. One control knob makes the electrical signals strong or weak. The other control knob makes the electrical signals fast or slow. Turn the control knobs to the off position before you start.
Use rubbing alcohol to clean the skin where the electrodes will be placed. Let your skin dry.
Put a thin coat of gel on the bottom of each electrode. This gel helps the electrical signal get to the nerves under your skin.
Put the electrodes on your skin and use medical tape or a sticky patch to cover the electrode. This keeps the electrode firmly stuck to the skin. Ask for help if you cannot reach the area where the electrodes should go.
Hook the pin connectors on the end of the electrode wires to the electrodes. Then plug the electrode wires into the TENS unit.
Turn the control knobs slowly to the correct setting. You should feel a tingling feeling.
Hook the TENS unit to your belt or place it in a pocket.
@ninurta, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to answer you. It's best to boil the corn whole with the Husk On after you've removed the Stingy Hairs and Rinsed in water to clean off the bug crap. Then you can Shuck the Corn and put the Green Husk back in your corn water and drink it after a re-boil for two days.
The VA gave me mine for which I am eternally grateful. It does wonders for me and my back at the end of a long hard day. I'm going to try it on my knee tonight and will let you know the results tomorrow. Hope it works.
Knee is a lot better at the moment, I kept a ice pack on it all day. I made a bunch so I to rotate them every two hours, but I can walk a lot better now.
I hadn't thought about using it on my knees. My left one gives me a fit sometimes! I was only thinking in terms of using it for my back, probably because that's where my strongest pain is right now, and my chiropractor never mentioned it could be good for other areas.
I'm using it as I type this. Ahhhhhhhhh... oh, that feels good!
I am thinking, forget about the mechanical stuff, and the pills. The smart choice is strawberry margarita, chips, and a hottie massage.
Dear God, I hate to say it, but the last week was so miserable, I didn't even think about sex! But this morning I noticed that I have graduated from gimping to limping. cu5222a777

Hmmm, a pattern is emerging and I don't like it. Last time I drank beer I ended up with a mild bout of gout in my left foot. Went out this weekend and bought ten wiezens (Pricey!) while farm sitting. This doesn't bode well. ol522295b2 But still it doesn't seem like a couple beers a day would do this to me. I'll have to keep a eye on it.
Oh well, at least I got to have it when I could if I have to give it up.
Beer is clarified with bromelain or papain, and traces of these get left in the beer. This enzyme is good, but it can cause problems with breaking down things and if you do not drink enough of it you don't start to pee which takes the stuff out of the body. Beer is made from whole grain barley and Hops. These are high in molybdenum which will convert Ammonia in the blood to uric acid. Now you need to pee out this Uric acid. So you should drink more beer so that you can pee. Alcohol breaks down some stuff in the joints to lubricate them with a fluid called synovial fluid. If you drink occasionally, you won't deplete the reserves but if you drink all the time your joints get depleted and then you constantly have dry joints.
You see where I am going here with beer causing gout. Maybe you should drink four beers.
Ahhhhh! Relief, albeit temporary. Took multiple freezer bags and put soaked dish towels in them and froze them around a couple of old gaterade bottles. It's heaven.
One thing to stay away from if you have arthritis is tomatoes-or so I've heard.
My knee joint is bone-on-bone, but I keep putting off replacement. Had the hip done, and love not having the excruciating pain, but it definitely lets me know whenever the weather is going to change. Very similar to arthritis pain, so I don't know if knee replacement would be effective in reducing your pain. Maybe you have more than arthritis going on? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tomatoes are high in benzoates. Benzoates are a form of benzene. Benzene was used in gas to keep the engine clean and raise the octane. Benzoates and benzoic acid are good for us for some things but bad for us in others. They help us keep from getting TB but can also lead to a rapid breakdown of things in the body and also kill off a lot of microbes causing them to release their toxins. Moderation is good, overconsumption can cause problems with a depletion of some of our good microbes. Tomatoes also contain high nitrogen compounds that can cause problems for some people with both skin and guts. Although they are nontoxic supposedly, they can still cause inflammation for some people. The thing is, they can be anti-carcinogenic also, but I feel a tomato is a medicine, not a food. Orange juice can also cause some of the same problems as tomatoes do.
There are other combinations of benzoates and benzoic acid in foods that are protective but less inflammitory. Tomatoes are also high in free and bound glutamates and these things can cause elevated antigen levels because glutamates form antigen memory and also make us able to form permanent memories. Copper can cancel the effect of this and settle the inflammation. So they make candy bars for that, chocolate contains copper compounds.
Oh gee, I have to quit somewhere, I could rattle on for an hour. Remember this, tomatoes were not eaten for very long because of some of the effects they have on people. The push went on because tomatoes can kill or control TB effectively. That was figured out in the sixties. Orange juice is a better choice though, and of course, cinnamon is really good for that, it is really high in benzoic compounds, it is a powerful medicine. Remember though, eating too much cinnamon can cause a rapid die off in the gut also.
Now, here is a good article about a new theory about diabetis, also an inflammatory related disease. www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2015/06/150601172848.htm Some of staphylococcus aurora's excretory chemicals can be neutralized with caffeic acid. or coffee. Now staphylococcus aurora can form the elastin binding protein that we need to form tough skin, cartiledge, and muscle, along with nerves and veins. Also copper is needed for the crosslinking. But think about this, this elastin binding protein is also essential to form the fat cell. This makes the cell stretchy, a plus for bacon in the diet. Now our skin. intestines, blood vessels, and muscles need to stretch so people who can tolerate the staph will be at an adantage. but they may someday get storage of the elastins in fat cell production. If you read the article it will not address most of what I have said, I did extensive studies on this. Every fat cell has a stem cell though, so cycling of fat is good for you. We were designed to gain weight in the fall and lose it throughout the winter months but now we have food available all the time so we do not release those stem cells.
Honestly, I am trying to quit typing, this is so unrelated to the thread.....or is it. Could these staph be actually effecting inflammation that is making arthritis worse?

Now that I think about it, it has been chilly here the last couple of days and my leg has been bothering me. Lots of small fronts moving through again. I think the pattern has been established.
