Where is the line between excessive marketing efforts and outright criminal stalking or harassment of individual people? I hope Facebook gets schooled on that here soon.
It's no big secret, I dislike Facebook with a particularly strong passion. A pimply faced little punk came up with a good idea, then turned it into the monster of privacy invasion and systemtic tracking of American citizens which it has become today. It's a monument to the excesses and dark sides of corporate greed, in full color and where most have had personal contact to know first hand. It has come to represent the worst, not best, of where Capitalism can go when a company owner functions well above any natural laws or accountability to them.
(Lets not forget..Facebook is a quiet partner to the National Security Agency and regular consultant to the White House, with it's big bro Google, often enough to question where the lines even sit anymore)
One word. Creepy.

So, be aware. You don't even need to have an account with Zuckerberg and his little posse of digital thugs to track you forever. Privacy means nothing. Individual rights mean nothing. Corporate responsibility means nothing. Profit...means EVERYTHING and tracking you, even away from Facebook, may bring in a few extra cents, somewhere, somehow.
Multiplied by 10's of millions? A few cents make their revenue stream and give Zuckerberg his 0's for a checking account. All you have to do is accept your privacy being raped on a daily basis, whether a member or not. Whether willing or not. Whether you are even AWARE or not.
Your life, and your details are not your own. They belong to Facebook.....and Google...and Trend Micro...and and and..

A new report claims that Facebook secretly installs tracking cookies on users’ computers, allowing them to follow users around the internet even after they’ve left the website, deleted their account and requested to be no longer followed.
Academic researchers said that the report showed that the company was breaking European law with its tracking policies. The law requires that users are told if their computers are receiving cookies except for specific circumstances.

But Facebook’s tracking policy allows it to track users if they have simply been to a page on the company’s domain, even if they weren’t logged in. That includes pages for brands or events, which users can see whether or not they have an account.
