And people talk about How America influenced Politics in Small Banana Republics, Well, mr.g. here and I was in many of those Banana Republics, it had less to do with Politics than it did with keeping Communism and Socialism Out. But you'll never get the Generations for the last 25 years to understand that, they've been indoctrinated by the Hate Everything American to include Our Flag by the Socialist Educators of the Progressive Liberal Party.

Very true. It had nothing to do with politics that I could figure out, and everything to do with ideology. Somoza actually WAS a bastard - but he was OUR bastard... until Carter gave him to the enemy. Look how that turned out for the next several years in Nicaragua - shortages of everything everywhere, forced relocation of entire villages (with the old villages being burnt and blown to the ground to prevent the inhabitants from sneaking back home), poor campesinos having their everything confiscated for "redistribution" - which actually amounted to forced labor on collectives, even Sandinistas turning on other Sandinistas in their fight for internal power.

Carter "played politics" when it was a clash of ideologies, and in the end EVERYONE lost.

Guatemala - turned into another craphole, too. El Salvador fared a little better, but I personally don't think that one is actually over - we just lost interest and started importing their street gangs to here to make it safer there... not the brightest move I could have thought of, but then again I'm not a politician.

Now, since we lost there (actually, more "gave it away to the enemy" than actually "lost"), we've got to fight the bastard reds here. I was warned about this outcome years ago if we lost there, what would happen here, although it hasn't (yet) quite panned out to the exact scenario, it's close enough for government work. Now look around you - there's a "Progressive" behind every tree, which are just communists who have rebranded themselves with a different name... same old totalitarian ideology, though.

Politics are kinda like corporations - the higher you get on the ladder, the tighter you have to tie your tie. It cones to a point that all circulation is cut off to your brain... and THAT is the point where they make you an executive!

Or a president.

well congress
The executive branch can make any deal it wants
the US is not bound to any part of it unless congress approves
which means any agency can not execute parts of the agreement with out congressional approval
