The other way to do it is to get the url address of the image
--->> Right click on the image and an option window will pop open. Scroll down until you see 'View Image Info'
-A window will open with the picture along with the Url address which should already be highlighted
-'Copy' the url address
------->>>> Back to our Image icon...click on it to open window
-A menu will pop open requesting the url address you just copied
-'Paste' into the 'Image Url' bar
-Finish by clicking 'Insert Image'
Also notice the image is the regular size when done this way
**NOTE: If it doesn't take, re-copy the url address of the image info in case you accidentally hit 'Copy' instead of 'Paste'.......I speak from my own experience. LOL**

I think Senona pretty well covered it. You note there are two ways to post a pic here, and I'd say there really is only one. Two technically work, I suppose....but as you found? Not very well. (There are technical issues on the direct 'insert' method as well, but nothing that needs mentioned here beyond saying, it'll have those same problems going forward).
The best and only real way to do it is the "Insert Image" button, 3rd from the left, in the right most set of buttons above your edit area.
That just requires the image be elsewhere. ANYWHERE else. It doesn't matter where, or how, or with whom. You can use Flikr, or TOS image vault or...get really wild and sign up for a DynDNS account to literally load files by URL off your own personal computer. (Dangerous to do the last part, if you don't know what you're doing for securing the opening you create).
You could even start a free hosting account somewhere...and if they permit direct upload of files in any form? Just use the URL that image is accessed by, after the upload. :)
After that, follow Senona's wonderful graphic guide for what to do with the URL.
