The rain was pouring down and there was a big puddle in front of a bar just outside Fort Eustis Army Base.
This old Navy Chief, wearing his Chief ball cap, was standing near the edge of the puddle with a fishing rod, his line in the puddle.
A curious young Army Captain stopped and asked what he was doing.
'Fishing,' the Chief replyed.
'Poor old fool,' the Army Captain thought, so he invited the ragged Chief into the bar for a drink.
As he felt he should start some conversation while they were sipping their whiskey, the haughty Army Captain asked, "And how many fish have you caught?'
