At one time, the nation (and Congress) were simply told 'sorry guys..too bad...the emails are gone and nothing we can do!". We were supposed to accept and believe that, like good sheep. Baaaaa....Baaaa...BULL^*&#
In a development that should only really surprise people by the fact someone actually had the courage to DO it, some 80,000 emails to and from the corrupt IRS official have been recovered. I imagine it will take time to go through each and every single one of them but I also have little doubt that EACH and every ONE of them will be looked at and considered for relevancy to this case and the scandal that surrounds the IRS over this issue.
Ooops... 30,000 mails recovered! Not bad for a collection a Director of the IRS swore, under oath, was lost and unrecoverable. (I recall him also getting all indignant that anyone would question his integrity. Well...consider it not just questioned, but down the crapper..I'd say!)

Disaster recovery tapes! DOH! Why didn't anyone think of that before?? (rhetorical quesiton..lol)
After 9/11, the United States Government redoubled their efforts toward what is simply referred to as "C.O.G." or Continuity of Government. It is a concept that dates back to nuclear war preparation days, when having to fight one for real was considered a distinct possibility. Over the decades, this program has taken billions upon billions of dollars ..and with one goal in mind. Just one.
In the event of any disaster...man made or otherwise...and up to or including the total physical loss of Washington D.C. and it's surrounding area, the Government would retain the ability to restore full or near full service within a short period of time, from another location. (Denver, Colorado..as the rather 'open secret' of it all). However, this means everything...but EVERYTHING..in the major agencies which form our working Government are backedup, saved off, isolated and stored in locations as far removed from 'ground zero' target areas as one can get such things.
Bottom line being....The IRS was lying. Not mistaken. Lying. Outright and to the nations face. They knew, like average people know, COG exists and the IRS (The source of all money, after all) absolutely IS a 'essential core service' to be protected for future recovery, if needed.
Now we'll see what this little lady was so hip hot to hide ...and it could get pretty interesting.
*** For the record, and this is important. I DO NOT think Obama directly or personally did what happened at the IRS. I doubt he even knew anything about it, beyond possible passing reference. "Plausible Deniability" is a very real and critical concept which I am sure Obama's people understand and use to protect their boss in any variety of things.
The need to see this done isn't about "getting Obama". These things take time, and I doubt it'll even be resolved by 2016. It's about finding the little political trolls within middle management of an agency that has NO BUSINESS being political for EITHER side, under any circumstances. Here is hoping they never stop, until everything that can be known...is known...and known by the public.

In a letter to IRS Commissioner John Koskinen Tuesday, Sen. Ron Johnson demanded details about the agency’s attempts to produce the emails before its watchdog, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration, succeeded in doing so.
The Wisconsin Republican cited a November report from the Washington Examiner that revealed TIGTA’s discovery of an estimated 30,000 emails on disaster recovery tapes.

But TIGTA officials informed Johnson’s staff last week that it had ultimately extracted 80,000 from the tapes, raising questions about whether the IRS truly went to “great lengths” and made “extraordinary efforts” to find the lost emails, as Koskinen testified last year.
