That's right folks... new numbers indicate that since the year 2000 (yes..that means two Presidents created this..not one) there have been roughly 9.3 million jobs created. During that same period, 18 million illegal and legal immigrants came to live and seek work in the United States.
That creates a problem in math that simply has no solution...except to say, our country is on a downtrend that has no numerical check or brake in sight.
Now, there are a large number of us who said since the start (and yes..under Bush too) the idea of erasing borders, as some would have, is patently absurd. The idea of unrestricted immigration is the FASTEST way to drive a nation into the ground. Why? People who can contribute will NEVER BE the majority coming into an affluent nation under such murky but effectively open immigration on the border. Those doing well, elsewhere? They will tend to stay elsewhere unless the conditions here become MORE favorable than the nation they are in now. For the low income or no income people of the world? I can't begrudge them a desire to blindly go to where 'anything is better than here'. I begrudge a nation so in love with "Social Justice", it's own will to survive and thrive has taken a second seat and eventually, will fall out entirely, to that first overriding priority.

There are so many things wrong with a system which has been perverted to achieve political goals in domestic power, that I barely know where to start.
The nation could start by actually caring to know how many jobs are ACTUALLY available vs. how many new people are ADDED to the population wily nily and as they manage to cross nearly open borders.
Obama said he'd fundamentally change America. He also stated a few days ago that Conservatism may well be diluted beyond relevant directly by immigration. I'm afraid he may well achieve both ...and the noble experiment in Governance which has been America will die, once and for all, upon that success. America is NOT America any longer when the rule of law becomes fuzzy and negotiable....and the borders, culture as well as language all become annoyances if they hold to anything remotely traditional.
Its starting to become hard to envision how this turns out in ways we'll all still want to be a part of by living here.
Then again? Others have reached that point well ahead of time, and already pulled the plug.
A Record Number of Americans Are Renouncing Their Citizenship
I hope Michelle is finally proud. Someone ought to be, since so damn few others can find much to feel that way about right now.

The United States has accepted two new immigrants for each additional job created since 2000, according to federal data.
The data shows that 18 million legal and illegal immigrants settled in the United States from 2000 to 2015, while only 9.3 million additional jobs were created, according to the Center for Immigration Studies, which favors a reduced level of immigration.

In part, migrants take lower wages because their pay will be effectively increased by the government’s subsequent award of citizenship to them. That’s a hugely valuable deferred payment to migrants, to their future children and to their parents, who can later gain residency and sign up for Medicare’s various aid programs.
American citizens, however, can’t get citizenship as deferred wages. Instead, they must ask employers to pay their full wages — except for welfare payments — which puts them at a disadvantage in the labor market.
