There's nothing more unwelcoming than the pressure of a new introduction. Mind you, one can't complain when the way I was introduced to my mother was considerably more painful and undignified than anything I'll have to endure in the next 24 hours besides having to suffer the Sunday Times website. If I'd had a top hat as a newborn I'd have tipped it and referred to the letter of apology that would be in the mail.
I'm a voracious reader. A talker. A thinker. A roughshod traveler. I'm irreverent, unapologetic, but rarely untoward. Until very recently I was an atheist, but that doesn't mean I'll give up the smoking or the drinking, God can forgive me. I'm utterly insignificant other than being of the very privileged few that gets to stand in the spotlight of life very briefly before an eternity of other activities.
I hope to be a part of your spotlight in the very near future. Try not to be offended by my sharing it with you.

Just don't join the Methodists, lol. My girlfriend laughed at me when I said one of the reasons I converted to Catholicism from Methodism was to drink and gamble without guilt, but I was only partially joking

It's an unfortunate malady called being a prat. Some people are endowed with it genetically, others have it imposed upon them within English universities. I'm unfortunately a victim of the former and the latter - on discovering that I was a prat my mother immediately dispatched me to Oxford.
Adjensen: Appreciate the advice on becoming a Methodist. Not a great risk at this stage. I believe in God, that doesn't mean we always agree on everything. Most human organisations professing beliefs in said being would be match boxed sized after a suitably efficient enema.
Well, I for one, don't believe in God, I was raise in China and so you can say, I'm Agnostic,,, I think is the right word? I say this because, I may not believe in a God and the Son of God, I do believe in Ancestral Worship and I do ask my Ancestors and My Spirit Guide for Help and Guidance.
Our daughter is a Full Time Buddhist. My Husband says he lost his faith many years ago. You can't get him to walk on the same street a Church may Be On! But,,,, Hey,,,, We can be friends,,,, can't we? It's good to see you here again.

Unfortunately the terms for ancestor and spirit worship have been out of fashion of late. The basic words for belief have been associated with the monotheistic God with much eager support from Christian churches and Islamic mosques.
I'm not sure you would strictly qualify as agnostic. Perhaps henotheistic, panetheistic even, or transtheist. Questions you could answer with a little research though without much practical purpose as belief in the modern context is reduced to a limited set of understood options.
I'm an ironic fan of ancestor worship. Taking strength in the power of the achievements of those that shared your genetics and struggles is an appealing sign of respect and remembering history. Is it contemporary ancestors or perhaps further back historical ones?
