Seriously folks even with the evidence of how our childrens mind is being warped, we blame the store owner, not the maker of the actual toy, what the hell!! There has been a war for the minds of children since the beginning, of... time.
They can be molded, manipulated, and dont even get me started on the subliminal crap they have to see daily!

My Dear NRE,
Please, do get started on that subliminal crap !!
Actually, this is a fantastic idea for a thread. Marketing firms are a dime a dozen creating this kind of garbage. With your permission, I'll look into some of it when I get a chance and get back to this thread.
If they're going to influence kids, or adults even, in the wrong way, why not bring them out in the open for all to see?

Just a little more info, this time on the store owner's position.
The store's owner, Amar Moustafa, said it was parents' responsibility to read the toy's label and determine what is appropriate for their children.
'It's a picture of a girl slitting her wrists. I'm outraged over it,' said mother Nicole Allen, who bought the toy for her two-year-old daughter. 'I want to know how they think that that is suitable for a child'
'The name on it, it says "Evil Stick",' he said. 'So from the name, if I was buying it for my kid, I would inspect it before I gave it to them.'
He added that he believed the toy was acceptable for older children, saying: 'For a five, six, seven, 10-year-old, I mean they see that on TV everyday.'
By the story, it looks like a mass item $1 store. So could the store owner have known that it was more than a cheapie toy or is it the manufacturer who has the explaining to do?
At first I'd imagined a small specialty store or something..but the pic in the article looks like $1.00 stores around here. Just lots of cheap junk bought wholesale for pennies to peddle for a buck.
I wonder if it isn't a whole lot more than merely subliminal.
There are ways to enhance items...positively and very very negatively. Black magic stuff. The side of my Faith I don't get into or even talk about very often. However...to have found something like that picture and especially in a place where it only became visible by random chance, and was never intended to be? I have to wonder what function it was meant to serve beside a black laugh to the people who did it.
I would also say finding that girl becomes real important. Was that a Photoshop pic, was it a self mutilator someone exploited with a picture ...or is that girl even still alive? The latter would overlap with the concern of the item itself in a real ugly way. Just my thoughts...

Thanks for that Wrabbit, that is a very good point. Though this may seem harmless to many, that doesnt take from the value and or time that it would take to think this one through.

We have learned to downplay this, and now even with it right in peoples faces they refuse to see it. I dont really care what "the owner" thought, he cant afford to crap on the store he owns, he will lose money, its business suicide.
BUT... that seems to sometimes be the focus, in NO place ever should this have been done, not one of these toys not in one of these places EVER. Besides parents responsibility, to you know.. read, it said "Evil Stick" but was visually stimulating to any child over the age of 3.
People are so quick to discuss ouija boards, which the company Mattel sells along with other "board" games, but this, well its an isolated incident, so its ok, come on!
