"A World Bank report on South Asian inequality states that upward mobility in India and Bangladesh is comparable to that of the United States. The recently published report, "Addressing Inequality in South Asia," states that although inequality in South Asia appears moderate, there are extreme gaps between extravagant wealth and destitute poverty.
Between the U.S., Bangladesh, India and Vietnam, probability of moving out of poverty was highest in Vietnam, but chances of moving up to the middle class were slightly higher in the U.S.
The probability of falling back into poverty as well as falling out of the middle class are highest in Bangladesh and lowest in the U.S."
This is what the world bank thinks, does it match anything remotely said by Obama in the STOU address last night. The man clearly painted a rosy picture then proceeded to fertilize it with bullcrap.
@marlingrace, I'll be honest with you don't kill the actor kill the bank financing the actor.
Wow where do we even start?
1. Us government approves of scheme of central banking. The largest system of finance the world has ever seen was created in 1913 with approval of congress.. The Federal Reserve system.
2. US government is the Federal Reserve Systems largest depositor, into the NYC Fed Branch. Every dime the government takes in, is dispersed through the federal reserve.
3. Every dime in the US economy is backed by the Federal Reserve at interest. Who pays that interest? The government which is you and I.
4. What does any finance system of this size need to flourish? A military with naval power, to keep shipping open and stop takeovers, and takeover.
5. In today's world what does a global economy need to operate? A Space Based satellite system to do world wide financial clearing. ie. You buy it from Italy and the money transfer happens through satellite communications called the swift system throughout the world. Who installed, controls and monitors the swift system? The US government. When you buy lunch in Paris and pay for it with your mastercard they know it immediately. When money moves in the global economy the US government knows the second it happens. So if a drug lord makes any financial transaction, a terror group gets money, buys weapons, or a corporation deposits money off shore the US government knows immediately. Kind of makes the whole drug war idea a joke doesn't it? Haven't you ever wondered how they know about terrorist fund raisers? The amount of money corporations have in other countries? Think of those implications. So now that they know about the money flow, why do they send military & CIA to south america for the drug trade? Yeah for control not stopping it.
6. Global reserve currency. All money transacted in the global economy is based on the US dollar, controlled by whom? The US government.
7. Who creates, writes, and implements banking regulation through entities like the SEC? Yup the US government.
8. Who controls the largest part of the US housing financing, insurance, and financial transactions? Yup US government.
9. Right now and it will soon be called into question, who controls space over planet earth? Right again the US government, nothing in this world will happen without control of space financially.
10. How is it the people don't know the details of these transactions? Because financial records for expenditures are databased with private contractors and not subject to FIOA request. The budget isn't expenditures, the budget is what you ask for so the public has something to chew on and bitch about. How else could Donald Rumsfeld say they lost 2 trillion dollars and can't account for it? Does the military have a two trillion dollar budget? THe answer is no.
These are just 10 of many. Now who controls what happens both in the US and the world financially? The US government or the banks? I assure you the banking system is at the beck and call of the government. It's a shell game to divert blame away from elected officials. The president isn't an actor as much as he is a participant, of a hidden system of finance for the military complex.
Don't believe anything I say as the truth, check for yourself it is out there if people want to look.
If we are now comparable to Vietnam in any economic sense...at all?
A LOT of people need fired or more before this even begins to look right again.
....Vietnamese people still see Rice as wealth and hoards of it as being a village bank. Comparison here isn't a positive thing to strive for, however happy they are with that life.

Wait until the shit hits...people will realize that rice wealth isn't so bad after all.
Indeed... I actually have come to respect the Vietnamese (and several other cultures) after learning more about what life looks like, and what matters in it, from their perspective. Comparisons made by wall street gurus and IMF controllers are insulting, IMO. Deeply so..and not productive.
Perhaps having an IMF in the first place is the larger problem. It seems a central nexus of global corruption....so removal may be a fine idea.

So much truth said in such a short sentence. It can be done through education of the people if they are willing to listen. But if their situation is good for them then they don't want to change anything. They wouldn't want the system that sends them a monthly check to stop, they wouldn't want their investments to stop producing, what a persons level of financial happiness is determines their desire for change. I would say the US people aren't pissed off enough yet.
The government takes roughly 30% in income taxes and the public controls what's done with the other 70%. The second they realize they can exercise their control on the economy is when the SHTF and it will be interesting to see what the pushback by government is.

Cash and precious metals aren't very nutritional and taste like crap. Anyone in a rural area living off of the land will be around long after major cities starve to death. But I don't expect to see it in mass unless its a culling of the poor for their financial burden. We have a global economy based on a monetary policy of gold, food, and oil based cash. To incarcerate a population behind fences under martial law kills the goose that lays the monthly golden egg, and puts their financial burden on governments. It seems to me there is a on going leveling of the global economy to adjust to lower labor cost to achieve some semblance of balance. Once robots are in full swing even for burger flipping minimum wage takes on a whole new meaning. When you calculate the ROI on a robot at $7.00 and hour its not worth it yet, but at a minimum wage of $10.00 to $15.00 an hour all of a sudden they don't need breaks, lunch time, call in sick, are always sober, don't require insurance, work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and don't sue when something goes wrong, your fault, my fault, nobody's fault. So in order to support the financial system of the US and the world we need more workers making less money instead of less workers making more money. This is what I think the restructuring is all about. Seems we are in process on all of this, and I doubt at my age I will be around to see it all implemented, but things are getting very interesting.
Wonder what an organization like SEIU is going to say when they strike and truck loads of robots show up. Maybe with brain implants being a reality now people can work from home and robots can be controlled from afar by people in shifts. When that happens then a vietnamese in a village in the middle of nowhere will compete for your job with an implant and a satellite based internet connection. Who knows for sure but our kids will probably find out.
