Okay..This is a story on more than one level. In fact, there will be a brain freeze moment in here, I promise you. First, what happened in general?
That is kinda rude if you ask me.... Aren't we supposed to be friends or something? Isn't Obama over there tonight, kissing butts and bowing deeply or something? (while stories are running back here from Chinese saying he's weak.. Ouch...) So what did China get?
(emphasis added)
(I did NOT write that, so don't blame me. Go talk to the falling editorial standards at the Washington Post..err...that is bad, huh?)
Anyway, isn't that just jolly for a cherry on the cupcake. China swiped all the Post Offices data for reasons largely attributed to good old fashioned international espionage according to the story. Almost as if that is supposed to make us feel better, or makes it okay in how it is presented.
Now I did promise a brain freeze moment, didn't I? I got to this part and my brain just froze and needed a moment to thaw from this level of utter incompetence.

Now there is an obvious "WTH??" issue about that last quote, but there are TWO major problems. The worst one is not the most obvious. Who can see the second, more serious problem about the last statement?
We're beyond a nation run so poorly, it's amazing the trains run on time at all...because they don't. It's just amazing they don't run into each other at full steam by pure accident. (err...they do occasionally now, huh? nvm..)
Chinese government hackers are suspected of breaching the computer networks of the United States Postal Service, compromising the data of more than 800,000 employees — including the postmaster general’s. . . .
The Chinese government has consistently denied accusations that it engages in cybertheft and notes that Chinese law prohibits cybercrime. But China has been tied to several recent intrusions, including one into the computer systems of the Office of Personnel Management and another into the systems of a government contractor, USIS, that conducts security-clearance checks.

The compromised data included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, addresses, dates of employment and other information, officials said. The data of every employee were exposed.

Although the Postal Service began planning to resolve the matter as soon as it was notified of the breach by the FBI and other federal agencies, it did not begin steps needed to repair the breach until this past weekend.
