We tend to see some real examples of having a BAD day with the stories we find and comment on. Some very bad days, indeed.
This isn't as bad as some. Not by a long shot. It does have a quirky little humor to it though, especially if one doesn't think the world of chasing a little ball, so you can actually hit it again, and chase it some more. First he lost on the green, then he got some rather poor Hawaiian hospitality. I actually feel a bit for him....I mean, really? Surviving his day is about the only positive thing to be said.
Allenby went to Hawaii to place and compete in the Sony Open. Well, he lost the cut for that, then....well, that would be a bad day for most right here. His day was only starting, apparently.
Of course, there have been cases of people losing high profile things or having problems the press covered and then getting into a contrived situation so the press would look back in a more favorable light with the new story. I don't think that happened here tho...and there was a witness to his return from the world of petty criminals.

It honestly IS a bit of a fantastic story. He describes here being drugged in the Wine bar, taken to an underground garage somewhere, beaten and then tossed in the trunk to be dumped. I find it odd that criminals would have such total control and privacy with a victim...yet still let them walk away in one piece. That just isn't a common outcome to a crime with such effort behind it in the modern times. After all...in a criminal sense? This blew past prison time for robbery and right into Life in Prison for kidnapping somewhere along the way. That is one hell of a 'spur of the moment' escalation for someone who planned enough to dope the victim in advance..and ...well, like I said. It IS a fantastic story.
Who knows tho... no one said criminals had any intelligence, and fortunately for us all? Most don't. Its why we have prisons full of petty morons, and before we even touch the drug issues that leave standing room only in the rest.
I guess you could say he swung for a good day and someone else scored on this one.

Golf Channel reported during the Sony Open telecast that Allenby was in a wine bar Friday night when he became separated from his caddie and a friend from Australia. The caddie told the network that Allenby was beaten, robbed of his cellphone, cash and credit cards and driven some six miles away and dumped in a park.
He was found by a retired military man, who helped him back to his hotel at Waialae Country Club.

He said a homeless woman in the park told him she saw him thrown out of the car, which led to the scrapes on his forehead. He said the retired military man paid for a taxi to get him back to his hotel.
