Sorry, I got distracted by a family phone call. Now where was I? Oh yea...being a Dirk...er...I mean Dick.
Careful you don't trip over it or step on it!
You are right right. A 10/22 and Garand would be excluded as they are semi's. I would say that ammunition would be exempted, after all, who really need more than 500 rounds unless they are a competition shooter. I found, before my knee and back went out, that 3 gun comps were pretty fun and competitive, but it was the other comps that tripped my trigger. (Pun intended)
Who needs 3 gun comps, anyhow? You only got 2 hands, unless you're a mutant! I might suggest joining the mutant hordes in the apocalypse if that's the case - they'll have plenty of guns!
I need more than 500 rounds. I've found that an 800 round sardine can of AK ammo makes an excellent doorstop - and I have a LOT of doors.
Trick shots (Those are tricky...pun intended again)
Long Range shots.
Show off.
If ammo wasn't impeded (which I didn't call for) and normal standard forearms weren't either. What's to complain about?
What is the deal with having a weapon that has a high capacity magazine? Why is it needed. Is your neighborhood that rough? If so, move. Do you fear the NWO? If so, then get a grip.
Why is it such a big deal to many to own a AR or AK series weapon? Is it a status symbol?
It really doesn't matter to me, but some would like to know.
Hi-cap mags are needed to make it more convenient when I'm keeping the jackboots from taking away my hi-cap mags.
When I'm in the woods, I want to spend more time shooting, and less time loading mags with loose rounds and fumbling and dropping them for some poor innocent rabbit to accidentally munch the primer on and blow his head off. It's an ecology and conservation issue.
Some times, when loading a mag, I pinch my fingers. That hurts. I want to do less of that per outing. It's a health issue.
AR and AK series rifles and like weapons have a pistol grip and a "straight line" stock design to channel recoil into the shoulder better. That improves accuracy, making it less likely that I'll accidentally pierce Aunt Maude's bloomers hanging on her clothesline. It's an ergonomics and safety issue.
I do not fear the NWO. the NWO fears ME...
... as long as I'm armed. if not, then not so much.
