I'm not big on "channeling", either, but probably because it seems to me to just be another catch phrase like the Christians use so many of, just for the New Age religion. Christians use words like "purposed" and "type" in ways that have no bearing on the normal English language, and the rest of us never have a clue what they're talking about. It's like they speak in code or something. I don't see how they get any converts at all like that.
Likewise, the new Age religion has words like "channeling", resonance", vibration", frequency", "dimension", "plane" etc that have actual meanings in English - but not the meanings that New Agers impart to them, and again it's like they are speaking in code to me. I have no clue what they're talking about, which I suppose, like the Christians, is the whole purpose.
To say someone has "channeled" something I'm sure has some meaning to them, but it's meaningless to me, because I'm almost certain that individual did not cut a longitudinal notch or trough for drainage or liquid transfer in any spirits.
That's why I have such difficulty talking to new Agers. It's not that I don't believe what they are saying, it's that I DON'T KNOW what they are saying, so I don't know if I can believe it or not. We are speaking different languages, without a common vocabulary in spite of the sounds made.
I finally did watch that second video, in Linux since I broke Windows. I didn't see anything in it that would demand an identification as reincarnation nor preclude explanation by the theory I expounded above. In particular, the little girl "Willa's" account would actually be MUCH better explained with my criteria than with reincarnation - the "past lives" she was seeing were almost exclusively outside herself, especially in the beginning (the two little girl ghosts in the hallway, for example), and only took on a "reincarnation tone" years later, after people had been able to convince themselves that's what it was.
I'm noticing a common thread in these videos. A lot of the cases - almost all of them - begin with the child having an "imaginary friend". Those sorts of manifestations are, by definition, outside the self, and would be much better explained by my theory than by reincarnation. Almost invariably, as time goes on the "imaginary friend" is internalized to the point of being identified as that individual's OWN past life, probably through an incessant series of suggestions, but in the apparent majority of cases, did not start out that way.

@ninurta,
That's why I have such difficulty talking to new Agers. It's not that I don't believe what they are saying, it's that I DON'T KNOW what they are saying, so I don't know if I can believe it or not. We are speaking different languages, without a common vocabulary in spite of the sounds made.
I can respect that you aren't ready yet. Does this mean we can't talk anymore?
Nah, we can ALWAYS talk - it's just that at times I have difficulty with vocabulary, so you should be prepared for my dazed and confused expressions. Unfortunately, I can at times get frustrated and appear abrasive while trying to get a thing straight in my own mind, and so often I just don't pursue clarification in the interests of peace.
That's also why some of my responses tend towards the overly-verbose. If I'm going to say something, I try to make sure it's understood what I'm trying to say, so as to avoid misunderstanding, because that just isn't very productive at all!
I just finished reading this thread and it's EPIC !!
When it comes to reincarnation, I do have a bias...I've had recollections, very vivid, through meditation and an extremely detailed one through automatic writing.
Nevertheless, I do not jump to conclusions. I would tend to believe reincarnation exists but there is just so many things our brains do that we just don't understand yet...
As for the four signs in the op;
1 - I sometimes read people accurately and I sometimes don't.
2 - Isolation. My alone time is a must. I enjoy others, I enjoy company but I need my time alone. If only to get away from the noise...
3 - Fitting in. Career wise, oh yes, I do fit in. But for everything else, not that much. I've always felt different but that doesn't necessarily make me different, it could just be part of the human experience cause there's a hell of a lot of people out there that feel different, for tons of different reasons...
4 - This one I have a problem with. An evolved soul. How does one know? Where's the chart? I don't feel at ease with people stating that they have an old soul, another has a young soul, one is so evolved, one is not, one is so spiritually advanced, one is not...Who decides and what is it based on?
People come to me all the time for advice, be it for their careers, their relationship, their questioning of different things. Sometimes, I have an answer, sometimes I don't. And I've learned to say "I don't know."
So for me, I'm not sure exactly where I stand in all of this. But if reincarnation exists, all I can say is:
"Can I skip the next time around...I'm not so sure I really want to come back to this circus, this jungle that we so lovingly call "Life of Earth"..."
And another O.T. Trophy for you for a most excellent thread !!!

@solarius,
4 - This one I have a problem with. An evolved soul. How does one know? Where's the chart? I don't feel at ease with people stating that they have an old soul, another has a young soul, one is so evolved, one is not, one is so spiritually advanced, one is not...Who decides and what is it based on?
Thanks for the award. I'm glad so many people are participating.
In my personal opinion, I think an old soul is defined as people that are able to communicate with their guides, have learned to listen/acknowledge their "intuition", overcome anger with positive thoughts, show love to others instead of hate, be of service to others instead of thinking only of themselves, let go of ego, learned to love themselves, and have more interest in obtaining things on a spiritual level instead of a materialistic level.
I could respond with more, but I go back to work tonight, so I'm on a limited time schedule now.
Mystic Wanderer, I have ALL of those traits! A couple of years ago I went for routine physical/consult to discuss my 'meds' - and I asked her - "Is it weird that I prefer to be alone at home? I'm not that into being constantly busy, or hanging with others - I feel just fine being by myself."
She smiled a wry smile and said, "NO! There's nothing wrong with that....it means you are comfortable in your own skin. It's perfectly fine not to keep up the same pace as others who you know, who are never still, who are busy busy busy."
GReat thread - likes all around!!!
That 9-year-old blows my mind. Such a vocabulary, and such insight!!
I'm convinced that reincarnation is definitely real.
Jing Ping's post also reinforces my beliefs - a few years ago, I read the "Bardo Thodol" (Tibetan Book of the Dead), and it made perfect sense to me.
I, too, have strangers talk to me about their most intimate troubles and concerns - whether it's another traveler on the train, or a clerk in a warehouse store, for some reason they seem perfectly comfortable telling me about their most personal problems.
"PLEASE... DO TELL! What was going on around you, what did the other "spirits" look like, what was your over-all feeling of the place... anything at all that you remember, I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to hear it."
Sorry I took so long to reply Mystic. There was a small group around me and one I'll call the leader. This leader I sensed to be a male spirit form. He took each of us one at a time to talk to. When he spoke to me, he spoke of this earth and the people and how chaotic it was and how people didn't think right, that this world needed help and asked if I would be willing to go to help and to learn. I wondered if I would be up to the task then thought well, if I'm being asked then I must be capable. I was quite curious and up for the challenge. He told me that if I did decide to go that there would be no turning back and it would be one of the most difficult things I had ever done. Like the stupid curious being that I was, I decided to come here. When he said there would be no turning back, I took that to mean that I would have to remain in this physical form until its demise.
I have since met others on the internet through the years. We feel as though we were supposed to be on a mission of some kind, but none of us know what the hell that mission is! I know I have helped many through the years, some without even realizing it until finding out years later. I have even saved a couple of people from suicide and they went on to live good and happy lives. I wondered if in that simplicity, that's all that was needed, that it was enough. Perhaps it didn't have to be something profound like changing the entire world but just making a difference in people's lives, being there for them and letting them know how much they matter. I would think that was 'helping'. Perhaps we spread our light by sharing our love and compassion and kindness. And like a ripple in a pond, it spreads.
Perhaps we all are here to shine our light and share our love and make the world a little bit better because of it. Perhaps we are here also to learn that we are not perfect and that's ok. As long as we try to be the best person we possibly can be, that is enough for now. Too many people underestimate themselves and think they aren't making a difference when in actuality they are and they do all the time.
You asked what the other spirits looked like. I don't remember. I only remember sensing male and female and personalities.
I remember being in that place/spiritual realm or whatever it was and feeling free and content. I don't remember being a certain age, though I didn't feel like a child. I didn't feel old. I was at peace, content. It wasn't anything like this earth and it's chaos and violence and turmoil. Sorry my memory is so vague. It was sooooo long ago.

Reincarnation is the spiritual belief that souls leave the body at the death of the physical body and the re-enter another physical body after spending a brief time in the spirit world. Some people come back to alleviate Karma, some come back for the purpose of further developing their souls, and some come back for the purpose of service and helping others evolve. There is an overwhelming amount of scientific evidence for the existence for reincarnation, some of which is summarized in an article I wrote here: www.spiritscienceandmetaphysics.com/does-the-soul-exist-this-ends-the-debate/
Have you ever wondered if you've had a previous life? There are different ways you can tell if you have lived on earth previously... You can undergo hypnotherapy and receive a past-life regression, you can meditate and call upon your intuition, or you can reflect on some of your characteristics as a person and see if they suggest you may have lived before.
(There is more on each sign discussed on the source page, for those who would like to learn more.)
Here are 4 signs this isn’t your first life on earth:
1) You Get A Good Read On People
From a young age, you have been able to get a really good read on people. From watching someone interact for just a few minutes, you are able to identify the characteristics that person would have and the lifestyle they live. It’s almost like you have this software that allows you to look around and download the information on other souls. This is because you have seen the archetype of that person before in a past life and are familiar with the general behaviour and psychology of that archetype. You have interacted with thousands of people throughout the course of your souls history, so there is really no archetype you haven’t interacted with yet.
Ever since I can remember but even more since I started in Reiki, I would get "feelings" about people and am often right. I would not be able to get specifics but I would know if it's someone that will hold me back or help me progress. I do get nasty surprises sometimes though but that could simply be because I needed to learn something from this person even if not necessarily good....
2) You Enjoy Isolation
You enjoy time to yourself. Not because you like being lonely, but because you like being alone. You are content with just being by yourself. You would rather been on a dock by yourself all night under the stars than at a party somewhere, and you would rather be in a forest alone all day than at a shopping mall. This is not because you are a hermit, but because you don’t need society in order to validate your sense of self. Your own worth comes from your relationship with yourself and your spirituality, not from peer-approval and social acceptance.
You’re the one who will start a discussion about things like lucid dreams, animal rights, and spirituality while everyone else wants to talk weather and sports. They’ll sometimes initiate the conversations because they are interested or intrigued with you, but most of the time it’s you who will break the film of social convention. But it’s not only a difference in interests that makes you stick out. It’s most importantly the fact that you don’t really know how to fit in. Maybe you have tried before, and it felt awkward and failed. And that’s OK. You don’t understand how some people are happy as carbon copies, and it’s unnatural to you to be conventional. You may do things that other people will call “weird”.
Nothing to add...I am a "freak of Nature" 113
4) You Have An Evolved Soul
People may come to you to seek advice, even though you may be younger than them by decades. They value your inputs because you have a good deal of insight and wisdom for your age. Without getting egoic about it, you seem to have more understanding and a more universal outlook to life’s challenges than the average person. Perhaps this is why you are here: to help others reach that same place. And quite frankly, it’s acquiring more wisdom and experience that you value the most in life. You aren’t really concerned with social status, fame, or making a nice cozy nest for yourself. You desire to grow spiritually, to evolve into a better person, and to help other people do the same. This feels most natural and rewarding to you.
Isn't it exhausting when all people talk to you about is there problems (negativity). I get that a LOT and I do my best to stay objective and give good advice (the best I can anyway). I am like a magnet for people with issues. People even confide in me in line a the grocery store and all..... fc/dunno
Here is a video of a 9 year old who is way beyond his years. This is a perfect example of someone who has lived here at least once before:
Do you have any of the four signs listed above? What are your thoughts?
I always "knew" I had lived previous lives, but this is the very first time I hear of these signs and it makes perfect sense to me, thanks!
You don't have a soul. You are a soul, you have a body!
