Oregon stand-off militiaman killed in shootout with the FBI

The FBI released video footage of the traffic stop that ended in the death of Robert "LaVoy" Finicum, one of the spokesmen for the armed occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. This excerpt shows Ryan Bundy getting out his car and tossing his gun in the snow.

After a period of about four minutes that were blacked out in the video, Finicum's white truck is shown driving away from the scene at a high speed. Bretzing said that the video showed Finicum getting out of the car and reaching for his waist.

Bretzing said Finicum "made a movement" and reached his right hand toward a pocket on the left inside portion of his jacket. Bretzing said Finicum had a loaded 9 mm semi-automatic handgun in that pocket.

The video shows Finicum being shot after getting out of the car and walking away from the truck toward the snow bank. His truck, where three other occupiers remained, was stuck in the snowbank. Police released flash bangs around the car.

Bretzing wouldn't say how many times Finicum was shot. He also wouldn't say whether Finicum had pulled his gun out of his pocket.

"Actions have consequences," Bretzing said. "As the video clearly shows it was a reckless action that resulted in consequences you have seen here today."
