That's just it. This cleared one bottleneck, and no small one to be sure.
However, the great wall of Obama still exists and what that basically means is that Congress can't do much without the 2/3rd Super Majority required for an over-ride on the Presidential Veto. Congress CAN now impeach him and have better than an even chance of seeing it carry to conviction for formal removal through the Senate. However, desire still doesn't make a case there...and evidence is still on the side of the Executive Branch agencies. (Congress has more Lawyers by education than anything, I think)
We may just see the ultimate face off between a pissed off Congress and an intransigent Executive. In the end? Congress can pass whatever they want, and Obama can still say 'No.'. He controls every agency of Government that actually DOES something, as the Branch carrying out the laws.
I'm half smirking and half groaning because we may just get a real life, fast moving civics lesson in a way no sane person who DOES know this system would EVER want to see it play out.
Obama is also a loose cannon on a wild deck until January. He's got a pen and THIS one will use it with reckless abandon. This may well be his last chance..and COULD be the last shot for Progressives as a whole. (Oh..God..can we hope?) However...these are Bill Ayers Progressives. They killed to get here. MANY MANY times....to get here and get THIS close to what they ALMOST had before World War II.
So... hang on, I say. It gets wild now. HOW wild? We'll see....and we'll see how accepting Obama (and the very real movement RIGHT behind him) is about being in a box he can't 'legally' move much within now. I'm not betting it's a graceful thing.
