Well... better late than never huh?
My apologies for being so late but have been travelling over the past week and finally managing to find ground...
Latest personal and linked updates :
In the wake of the recent attacks in Paris and the French Gvt decision to heighten the alert to national state of emergency, I was surprised to observe the following :
I went to Switzerland last week and whilst driving through the now re-opened border checkpoint had my car searched and presented my ID... (which is absolutely normal and very fine by me)... on the other side of the motorway (incoming traffic from Switzerland into France there was a 2 to 3 Km traffic jam as all cars were being searched... Still fine by me).
The Thursday morning I left Switzerland and decided to go through one of the smaller village border checkpoints in order to avoid the traffic jams.
Guess what?... I drove straight through without any checks (as did so many other drivers before and after me)... For crying out loud... I could have had my car chockablock full of guns n stuff???... Maximum security alert my backside...
THAT is NOT fine by me...
Anyways... another thing that has happened this week which is totally disgusting in my opinion is the following :
The Place de la république in Paris has become a memorial for victims of the Charlie Hebdo and recent Paris attacks... with thousands of people coming to pay tribute by leaving flowers, messages, pictures drawn by kids or candles...
This weekend and yesterday saw the world climate change meeting in France (COP21 meeting)... over 2 to 300 violent militant far left anarchist protesters decided to use the memorial as ammunition against the police... resulting in the rioters throwing candles and memorial objects at them... :
French President Francois Hollande on Sunday condemned the "scandalous" behaviour of far-left activists who clashed with riot police in an area dedicated for memorials to the Paris attacks ahead of key UN climate talks.
Around 100 people were arrested after a small group of protesters at the central Place de la Republique square pelted officers with bottles as well as candles that had been left in tribute to the victims of the November 13 attacks.
"These disruptive elements have nothing to do with defenders of the environment," Hollande said at an EU-Turkey summit in Brussels.
"They are not there so that the [COP21] talks succeed but are there solely to create incidents," he said.
"It is doubly regrettable, even scandalous that this happened at the Place de la Republique where flowers and candles have been left in memory of those who were killed by the terrorists' bullets" in the November 13 Paris attacks, he said.
He said it was also regrettable "in relation to the climate conference which will allow the world to decide the future of the planet."
Around 4 500 activists had earlier linked hands in the French capital in a peaceful protest pleading for leaders to curb global warming.
France has banned all demonstrations, including those for the climate talks, in the wake of the November 13 atrocities which left 130 people dead.

I have only one definition for this type of "person"... Pond life... Even pond life is too good a term for this type of disrespectful scum.
Rant over.
