The distortion of cells dna in humans just being in outerspace makes me feel that utilizing this portal would be nearly impossible to deliver living beings through it.
But you have to understand that ETs aren't made up the same as humans. And, according to what has been told, when the SSP people traveled through the stargates they were protected in a craft that had a shield that our earth scientists know nothing about... yet.
You are starting to sound like Samantha Carter or Daniel Jackson from SG1. Now Jack O'neil would rather talk about fishing at his place at the lake where there is no fish. and drinking beer.

rickymouse, I don't know who those people are, so should I thank you? Or, do this... ?

I've wondered if Stargate had more realism by meaning or purely by accident than some of the net theories. It would be fascinating to find there is an intergalactic community we're just in a cul-da-sac to. Quiet here..but I sure wouldn't mind learning of neighbors we could help and learn from.

When I dig the stargate up in the back yard, I will give you the first chance to go through it. Every day it rumbles at about twelve thirty, like someone is trying to dial the gate from another planet. I think it is originating from the Palmer Empire far far away. The Empire mine is about eight miles away. That's far far away if you don't have technology. And you are a mouse.

I think that we are not on any cul-de-sac, but rather some dirt track covered up by shrubs that you can't see unless you know what yer lookin' for.

The Vogon's also come to mind.
Lets hope we don't venture out a little too early for our own good, to come to wish we'd stayed unnoticed a bit longer...eh?
