I was rather impressed! Now I know how you got through all that
a human race. I understand that because of many variables, the act of
trade in commodities can be more efficient if a token or a note of promise
is placed in the position of the item of trade and how that note/token can
be assumed to have value.
But I've always been puzzled on how notes of promise can be generated
from holding onto others notes of currency. I comprehend how a person
who assures another that they can keep currency safe for a fee -will make
money for themselves and I even understand how that secured monies can
be invested by the person keeping it safe, to obtain more notes of promise.
My lack of understanding arrives where the use of power is used when it
comes to the keeper of 'others monies' dictating who gets what and why.
(I'm the guy -who when asked which one was correct in regards of the
biblical-tale of three brothers who take a portion of their Father's money
and use it, the scorned siblling that hid his Father's cash and returned
it when asked... well, I'm the guy who thought the lad was in the right.
It wasn't his money to gamble with in the first place!)
One takes someone else's token of assumed-value and prospects in markets
that can yield riches. Yet, the investor does not return an equitable portion
of the profit to the original owner of that invested money.
Plus, they are paid to do this investing without the money-owner's
knowledge!
In today's society, if that invested money makes a profit, the establishments
that securely holds people's money gets to keep the majority of it and invest
more. If they fail in the investments and cannot acquire other funds, they call
bankruptcy and the surrounding economies that bathe in the confidence from
the investments suffer.
When Eddie Murphy's character in the 'Trading Places' movie had it explained
to him about how the Commodities Brokerage firm made it's money, he called
the two owner-brothers 'a couple of bookies!'
In the world I live in, I understand that we can use a symbol that means two
goats, one chicken and a pig. But when our culture is made to believe that
-that partcular symbol has a worth within itself, then I'm not a big fan.
(Sorry for the drawn-out explanation)
