Meanwhile, one resident of Beijing told MailOnline via email: 'Our cellphones here are receiving warnings that between 4.50am to 5.35am local time based on wind currents that toxic fumes from the explosions will reach Beijing. 'We are being urged to keep doors and windows closed and avoid going outside. The worst part is that these are then followed by the advice that if you must go out wear a surgical mask. 'Unless I've completely missed my lessons in chemistry, a surgical mask will be entirely ineffective against a toxic cloud from a chemical or gas explosion.

727sky, Yes, Yes, I Know,,,, Beijing is just doing what it has always done, Control what is allowed to be Published or Broadcasted to the Outside World. Plus as of yet from my sources, they haven't been able to understand fully what caused this. Some areas needing very close examination are being looked out by Closely monitored and controlled officials. You have the same problem there don't you........ Government Censorship and Government Total Control Of New Reports.
Over 100 dead ...... many still missing and unaccounted for ...... chinese army chem warfare unit moved in to clean up sodium cyanide that had been stored there ......
Notable damage to China's Tianhe-1A supercomputer facility
Xinhua's statement pointed out that the blast on Wednesday night had done significant damage to a number of the facilities where Tianhe-1A is housed (the National Supercomputing Center in Tianjin). The external windows of the building where the device is housed were shattered, and ceilings collapsed in some buildings in the center. A number of injuries were reported.
Calls to the supercomputing center by media representatives were not answered on Friday, and the website has been offline for a few hours.
People in the Chinese city of Tianjin whose homes were damaged by the huge explosions at on 12 August have staged protests to demand compensation from the government.
Scores gathered outside the Mayfair Hotel, where officials have been giving news conferences.
Residents say the chemical storage warehouses which blew up had been built illegally close to their homes.
The blasts focused on a warehouse which was storing sodium cyanide.
Chinese state prosecutors have accused 11 officials and port executives of “dereliction of duty” and “abuse of power” over the huge explosions two weeks ago in the world’s 10th largest port, Tianjin, according to the state-run Xinhua news agency.
12 people from the firm — including its chairman, vice chairman and three general managers — have been detained on suspicion of illegally storing dangerous chemicals.
Now, THIS impresses me! In the US, these 12 people would most likely have been able to buy their way out of any accountability, and put some token fall guy up for public flogging.
I am going to watch closely how China deals with this, and the US gov SHOULD be taking notes!
