I built my house to withstand a tree hitting it. I built it to handle a lot of snow. I built it to be easy to heat and strong enough to last many years, overbuilding it. It was not built to withstand an earthquake. It has a lot of nails in it but it will not take the swaying.
It does alright with mineblasts, but even a close 5.5 would probably cause it damage.
