You might do well with an ongoing means of water purification, and over the long term too. Water tables are falling faster than prices at a JC Pennys sale. It's a damn scary thing too, because country folk all know that doesn't replenish anytime soon or anything like quickly. Rainstorms don't make rural well levels bounce to any degree that matters...let alone recover.
Shhhh.... If you keep talking like that? Jerry Brown will spend another 20 or 30 billion to tunnel right up to your water.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – Gov. Jerry Brown is taking a blunt approach with critics of his $15 million plan to build twin tunnels to send water around the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
Brown said Wednesday that until critics have studied the problem for a million hours, they should “shut up, because you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.”
I think 'ol Moonbeam has been self-medicating with the 'ol wacky tobacy. He's certainly off his rocker and feeling a bit tyrannic here lately. Then again, that's been a national fad with politicians lately. Tyranny in a mini-form.
@marlingrace,yes your right my old downstairs neighbors use to sell their food stamps for money I hated that they did that the scams they pulled made me realize that is why we are collapsing because of schmucks like them SMDH
Just curious on something, but was that before or after it went to EBT cards and controls on how those are used? I recall seeing a number of ways the old paper bills could be scammed up for cash, because stores gave back real money on change under $1.
Rumor has it, Ramen Noodles took a hit for sales when they went to that plastic card with no change given by retailers.
A friend of mine has a useless sister and she has a EBT card and has some way to get cash from it for her drug habit. I am not sure but I am told it requires the cooperation of someone at a store. I assure you this bitch has never eaten top ramen in her life. If you look up white trash in the dictionary it has her photo. They have been system users and abusers since I have known the family. Trying to turn them in was as big a bad joke as the threats from her husband. Just awful people. I understand she claimed the husband ran off, but he was always there and never left, but of course no government entity ever checked. Their story and the family's story could take hours to tell, and require serious adult beverages just to tolerate the nerve damage to your ears. Personally I wouldn't shed a tear if the whole family but my friend fell in a hole and disappeared. If I was there I would shove them and do a little dance.
One thing to think about here is, what effects will a cashless society have on Martial Law, you could in essence shut down an entire city financially. No gas to travel, no food to stock up, no last minute purchases. What happens if we go to war and another country drops an EMP weapon? What of hackers then, and how important will they be when a government can hire the most and the best? If you're on the run, don't fill the tank with gas, you might find a drone overhead with a hellfire to take you out, because the second you use the card to buy gas, food, water, they got you.
Several years ago, my wife, son and I took a vacation to see her aunt and cousins. I was still in the Air Force at the time and she worked as a nurse. We lived in a small (rented) house with 1 tv and no cable. Had 2 beat-up cars and we kept ourselves fed but that was it.
My wife's cousin lived in a 2 story government subsidized housing, had TV's in every room, a refrigerator stocked with everything, and didn't work at all. All her utilities were covered and she did nothing all day long.

It made me ill.
It can be a difficult thing to witness, and more so when you can't do anything about it. Trash does not differentiate by race, creed, or color.
It is the examples we set for our children that matter, and other than farting matches you are great dad...
And people wonder why BRIC was founded..........and the countries that founded it.
I'm a driver by trade. At this moment I'm a cab driver in Phoenix. It's a cash business that is slowly trying to convert to all e-trade. No money changing hands..........everything transferring from one account to another, via one phone to another...........basically. Even if it does totally convert to that, and I never see that trade going 100% to no cash, all a person has to do is withdraw what they don't need for bills from their account and do cash for the rest. You want to save your money? Buy real estate.
But I don't think a cashless society will work. We've been going farther and farther into the realm of e-transactions, and the gap between the haves and have nots has been widening at roughly the same rate. Coincidence?
I'll leave you with this: We've all heard about the young adults standing at freeway off ramps with their signs asking for cash. I was in a part of the valley last week that is exclusive to seniors. In a median on a major thoroughfare there was a man with one of those signs. He was 75 if he was a day. Not much gets to me at this stage of my life, but that got to me. Someone's f-ing grandpa is out there begging for money, and it's a direct result of the greed at the top.

IMHO
I think BRICSA was created more for getting away from western banking and western government financial spying. When you are the only game in town to do financial clearing in the world for international transactions our government knows what is purchased anywhere in the world. If you buy lunch in Paris on your Visa card the US government knows about it instantly. This is why the Chinese are building their CIPS system to do the same thing for the BRICSA group first.
China just has to get their satellite system in place and some ground based relay areas and they can separate themselves from the US.
