We have veins of lead (uranium, too) around here, so I reckon we won't be entirely out in the cold...
Still, I reckon as long as I have my pointy sticks, or can make another pointy stick, I'll be OK. With a pointy stick, I can either get all the guns and ammo I need off of the enemy, or else die trying. My problems are solved either way.

Rather than looking for veins of lead, might I recommend wheel weights, they pop off rather nicely, and work very well.

More sources out there, I just snagged this one for ya!
Cheaper than dirt has Russian 9mm ammo for $9.59 a box, but it looks to have alum cases so no reloading.
My body is too out of shape to hope to fight for long, so I have enough ammo to be the foolish front man for those who want to use me to get away? Not to mention, the whole "scavenging" aspect of survival that is so often left out of movies will be front and foremost in my mind?
Also, I am looking to buy a good slingshot! Having a hard time finding one though because the reviews on them and the reviews from those who purchased them seem to be at a dead lock.

I think @ninurta, follows some guy on youtube that shows you how to make great slingshots, someone posted a spoof where he got a ricochet in the head. But he makes serious slingshots.

Why would anyone aim for the vest? It clearly states in the Pointy Stick Manual that one should NOT aim for the vest, but aim for softer targets instead - eyeballs are suggested, but not required. If the eyes are goggle covered, then the throat... and on down the line. There has been no human, since pointy sticks were first used, who has been entirely covered in all particulars and immune to the mighty power of the pointy stick!

That was my first reaction, but what happens when we run out of wheel weights and fishing sinkers? We will be at the mercy of the lead-producing countries, and it's ALWAYS a bad idea to give complete control of your strategic metals and minerals (like, for instance, lead) to potential enemy countries!
What's next? Give them control of the transportation sector by exporting all car production? Oh, wait a minute...
