What is Duffy's Tavern?

Evening, everybody.

This is the my tenth anniversary of picking up the keys to this house, after about three decades of living in single urban rooms.

So, as I said, the drinks are on me.

I don't need a meal, because I've already eaten.

I had half a leg of lamb seething in the slow cooker overnight, in a stock which included a generous slug of wine and anything else I could think of (garlic, onion, passata, basil, green pepper). Very tender by the time it came out. Vegetables cooked separately, including a dish of cauliflower cheese (I didn't make the sauce thick enough).

To follow, an apple and blackberry pie made with home-grown fruit (frozen a few weeks back and now cooked off).

Since this is also Bonfire Night, I had a good excuse for letting off fireworks.

This included ten rockets. I was told they came in packs of five for £5 or packs of 7 for £10. Naturally I asked for two of the five-packs, but the lady said there was only one left. Do I believe that, or do I assume she tells everybody that, as the only way to get rid of the absurdly priced 7-packs?

What alcohol can you offer? I don't like most spirits, so a liqueur or a wine would probably be best.
