I just got almost 20 news feeds up and would really appreciate anyone who may be able, to drop by and click through them a bit? What I'm making sure of is that the Cache works right and it goes smoothly with a little repeated loading. Of course, if someone does go over, give me a yell if anything doesn't work like it appears it should.
Don't pay any attention to what loads on that link directly. The forum there is something I am removing, anyway and it is just a placeholder. The Government, State Department and Financial areas on the sub menu are where all the feeds are.
lol.... The State feeds are entertaining to follow because you just never know what may pop up next. They also sometimes put information out before Media does regarding bad conditions somewhere.
I'm not asking 'what can I make for you', by the way. I read that back over and can see how it could look that way. I'm not assuming anyone in particular will add my site to their bookmarks when I have all the kinks worked out. (updating pages actually updating like they are supposed to at the moment..but I digress)..
In general terms though, since I'm building this to a wide net audience, is having a place to put pics that can be hosted on other sites as well as the one they are stored on, important?
I'm finding lots of software that comes close, but none yet quite do it for a multi-user environment with real features built in, so what I first figured as something nifty to add is becoming real serious work to accomplish. Hence..the question of how much value that feature holds to people on a site?
I think it would have a very high value - but would be an eventual headache for you in the made scramble to get ever expanding storage to accommodate it.
Seriously? How could you not know of Burkina Faso? Ouagadougou was targeted in a mercenary op earlier this year! Why, "things American schoolkids can't pronounce" are up and coming trendy! They're the new black! Sheesh!
Burkina Faso (formerly Upper Volta) achieved independence from France in 1960. Repeated military coups during the 1970s and 1980s were followed by multiparty elections in the early 1990s. Current President Blaise COMPAORE came to power in a 1987 military coup and has won every election since then. There have been increasing protests over the belief that the president may try to run for a currently unconstitutional third term in the 2015 presidential elections. Burkina Faso's high population growth and limited natural resources result in poor economic prospects for the majority of its citizens.
Okay...maybe not so much. I was surprised to see you didn't make up the name though. Wow.. That really is the name of their Capital city. I'll just stop there as the P.C. police lurk near names with that humor potential.
Of course, the reasons for their problems are likely very complex and requiring experts to figure out....

I'm giving up trying to log into that site for a while. It won't let me. I got registered - I think, but it won't let me log in. I never got a confirmation e-mail, so that may be where the problem is - I haven't confirmed. I tried to re-register, thinking that maybe the registration didn't take, but it says my username and e-mail are already taken, so I'm presuming I'm at least sort of quasi-registered there.
Another problem, which is probably specific to this machine and my setup of it, is that I seem to be getting thrown into "script hell". The computer stops responding and the hard drive goes into overdrive, which usually means it's trying to churn through some script or other that isn't playing well with the setup I have. YouTube does the same thing some times.

Love the news feeds wrabbit!!
Clicked on several links and they opened without a problem
Pretty much cruised through everything and it all worked just fine!!
I took that off for the moment, and it was members side only anyway. Apparently the couple updates were still too much for them or something, and I'll see about something else for that. I have other things to go under that heading anyway. :)
