Ho, Ho, Ho, Ho, Ho, (Wait a minute, I lost count.)
First, the avatar areas are now larger. I suppose they could be made larger still, but they seem large enough for practical purposes.
Now, finally, if you want to change your background, go to "Edit Profile," then look at the "Personal" section. Towards the bottom you'll find three new boxes labeled "Mini-Profile . . ." Click on the box itself, and start having a good time.

@snarky412,
Obviously, I need a time out. brainfart I increased the Mini-profile size, not the Avatar size. ProBoards told me (if I remember) that the avatar itself has to be stored off site, as they reduce everything to 150 x 150 max.
Yep, here's their quote:
Things to know:
•The default avatar size is 150 x 150px. •Uploaded avatars are resized to 150px on your Profile page.

Okay, fixin to experiment.....TY
I just did, it looks like even hosted off-site, we are being scaled down to stay in the same size range. The one I hosted off-site, the site automatically scaled to 88 x 200, even though it was over two times that size.
it looks like 150 x 150 is pretty much it, outside of a different shape to that same scale.

Hold on, don't give up. I'm going to put on my big boy points and look at the base code for a second. Don't tell Tech Bunny, he'll shoot me. It shouldn't affect the recent threads problem.

When I right clicked on the puppy and asked for a link, it gave me this:
"*****http://hernandoshideaway.boards.net/attachment/download/578*****" but without the stars and quotes. Because it's downloaded from proBoards, it would be subject to the 150 x 150. I've tried to change that to 300 x 300, if you want to experiment.
There is something else I can try, but I wanted to see what this would do.
