Deaths by medical mistakes hit records

The news page is from HealthIT News and they appear to be looking to IT for answers in helping to reduce the death rate. This obviously tells us it is medicine related and their appears to be a lack of a good database with the proper scripting to notify doctors and or pharmacy when there is a conflict. From the article overall technology fails and the need for better qualified people are necessary. While this is necessary in every aspect of our lives today as our society becomes dependant on tech, there is also no substitute for qualified well trained people. The problem becomes incredibly complicated when a simple mistake of prescribing a conflicting drug kills someone we care about.
Part of my answer for this is before I take any prescription I check and see what the side effects are and what other medications they might conflict with. No one is perfect in this world not me not you no one. All we can do is double check, triple check, and pay very close attention to how our bodies are reacting.
A 1,000 person a day death rate is staggering to say the least, and with a cost of $1 trillion dollars every year, not once did I hear how Obama Care is going to address this or fix it. Remember Obama Care is supposed to save us money in the long run but like every government program it always cost more, much more.
