I see we don't have a "Cryptid and Monsters" forum, so I'll post this in the UFO and Alien forum, since some people believe Big Foot is an alien.
Recently a boy told members of the cryptid research organization, Team Rogue, that he saw a big white creature running into the woods near his family’s home in Eddington, Maine. He said he heard something running over from him while walking in the woods. He looked up and saw a big white creature, and then it was gone.
His family did not see the creature, but did find a deer leg that “had just been ripped off, and was just sitting there.” Brock and Marston, members of the research team, said they found footprints. They used a tree the boy saw it standing near to estimate the creature was about eight feet tall.
This is at least the second white Bigfoot sighting in Maine in a year. A man walking his dog on Christmas reported seeing one in Litchfield. Another white Bigfoot was reported in nearby Shaftsbury, Vermont, in January 2014.
So, it seems the Abominable Snowman has climbed off the mountain top and came across the ocean to take up residence in Maine.
He may have paid my hometown a visit when I was around 10 years old also. My sister saw a tall creature walk by the window that had to be close to 9 feet tall, and a day or two later my neighbor's pig was found ripped open with only the liver missing. Long white hair was caught in the barbed wire fence where something had crossed. They never did find out what it was.
Well, that is a dead evolutionary line if I ever heard of one. A WHITE predator in a big green forest? Yup.... That is how animals become extinct. Finding food must be a challenge when it doesn't take great eyesight to see the big white mass coming to eat you.
Look on the bright side tho.. If this exists and it wasn't a hallucination? There should be a body before too long. Seriously.. Predators have their colors for a good reason, and this is like dropping a Bengal Tiger into the African Savannah. You'd see it coming from a mile away and it wouldn't live long.
Of course..if the authorities took it seriously, you'd think a dog could track it without TOO much trouble, if it had a fresh point to start from like that.
Rather than concluding the Yeti has migrated to the Americas wouldn't it make more sense if the "White Bigfoot" had a genetic mutation? Albinism occurs naturally in the wild AND among humans. Maybe the inbreeding that would be required from lack of suitable mates (face it, if there were enough mates to go around they would probably multiply as fast as humans do) has caused genetic mutations leading to a lack of pigment. If this IS the case I believe wrabbit is correct in that it shouldn't be too long before one is found as albinos in the wild generally have extremely short life spans.
Or the kid may have heard a strange noise and freaked out, imagining seeing a tall, hairy, white being. It could have just as easily been a bear or even an albino bear- or just an active imagination.

The whole big foot thing has always fascinated me. There are way to many sightings for it to be fantasy. When we were kids my neighbor had an encounter, and he would never go back to the forest again. This is a very interesting topic and needs exploration further. And please don't mention Bo Bo... lol
I agree with the fascination for the topic. Ever since I was a wee tyke being taken into the back country of Northern California for camping trips (Salmon River/Forks of the Salmon area..for those who know extreme rural N. Cal) I've wondered...and it was never lost on me that I was n the very woods supposedly shared by these critters. I swear once, I was being watched and to this day, I'll insist that was intelligence watching me. It didn't feel like the dull nag of an animal watching in fear or curiosity..but the intensity of a person staring in a small room. Of course...there wasn't likely another human for 25 miles outside the group I was with ..so who knows.
Still.. It may have been chlidhood imagination. What isn't imagination are the cases of sightings and...more telling perhaps...the camps torn to pieces and things destroyed dating back well before anyone even heard the term 'environmentalism'....and men would just shoot you on the spot to catch a person doing such a thing.
I figure primates are demonstrating clear human levels of self awareness and intelligence, even if they lack language as we know it..or care for what we do in life's priorities. Intelligence is sure there...so why not suggest these are possible? We've only been in North America a couple centuries ourselves ..and those before us DID know of and warn about these creatures. Even Cortez got warned by the natives about Bigfoot.
I think Wrabbit has a point. Folklore has so many stories about various creatures, its almost scary. There are tales of the same creatures being seen all over the globe before man was able to navigate/communicate that far....that alone says a lot imo.
Just think for a minute, what if humans found a planet with and intelligent race on it and they warned you not to venture in a certain area because of a monster, would you believe them, heck I sure would...
I think that perhaps the "bigfoot" and the "abominable snowman" could very well be the same, and that they change color with the seasons (like rabbits)..the albino theory is a probable on also.
Just throwing this out there.....

@wrabbit2000,

That guy had better look healthy, or the South African Government has some explaining to do. :)
The king of kings, White Lion, is found in wildlife reserves in South Africa. It is a rare colour mutation (genetic change) of a subspecies of lion of Kruger, Panthera leo krugeri. It has been perpetuated by selective breeding in zoos around the world. White lions are not yet a separate subspecies and they have been said to be indigenous to the Timbavati region of South Africa for centuries, although the earliest recorded sighting in this region was in 1938.
it seems the big kitty lives under the protection of the South Africans these days, in a preserve. Sad..that it has to be that way, but then, poachers probably try hard to get them, even there.
I do find it interesting that they show this having been a natural occurrence, albeit rare for genetic mutation, and seen in the wild before.
Maybe if you're big enough and bad enough, your color doesn't matter? lol
