I was talking with Hernando during the first days of our site, and he was frowning with thought. I had just poured out two more tequilas and asked him what was turning out to be a tricky question?
"Hey, mi amigo, what do I do about assigning awards to people who post a lot? Can I give them titles? What would you do? My brain's getting fuzzy."
Apparently his was as well. He stared up at the slowly turning ceiling fan, and called the waitress over to order another bottle of tequila and a six-pack of the local beer. I knew he wasn't thinking about my question by the way he pinched the waitress' bottom as she turned to get the drinks.
"I remember getting stuck in a giant swamp when my army unit was on maneuvers years and years ago," he said with a slurring sound which I was sure wasn't part of normal Spanish, "That's your answer."
I really tried to remember what question I had asked which might have "getting stuck in a giant swamp" as it's answer. I told him he should slow down on the drinking because he was making no sense at all.
"I'm making perfect sense, you stupid Gringo!" Hernando sometimes get belligerent when he's been drinking. "You wanted titles for your members? Well, there you are!"
"But Hernando," I gently objected, "Who is going to want to be named 'Swamp Lizard' or 'Phosphorescent Fungus?' Go lie down, we'll talk some more later."
Hernando's rage evaporated in an instant. "I should have remembered I was dealing with an imbecile," he said. "Not Fungus or swamps, fool, the Mexican Army!"
After a quick shot, I realized that I had been on the wrong track completely and he had a great idea. With his help, I created the following list of titles and the number of posts needed to earn them. The English translation is included. Yes, I know, the Mexican Army does not currently have the rank Soldado de Primero, and that they don't put a "de" in their titles, but I had no intention of arguing with Hernando, so this is what we've got.

The "Tech Bunny" is unusual in that the title "Tech Bunny" does not change, but as he posts, his stars change to match the scheme shown above. He currently has three gold stars, but his title is Tech Bunny instead of "Cabo."
