All I can say is .... Wow..... This really is America and this really is how they are running policy. It's like a surreal and warped version of reality, where the inmates run the asylum with all the crazy logic they can bring.
Okay, on some level...I can really, honestly, say I'm a bit scared now. I figured Obama *HAD* to have some wild idea up his sleeve for preventing the Israelis from attacking Iran forthwith as a matter of direct self defense,...and...no. Please..no... This was it?? They just did what they did...with *THIS* punk in their back pocket as some sort of 'make it better' prize?!
Oh..Israel will take him, I'm sure. Happily...altho how things go for him after that is anyone's guess. Trump's POW comments would have been appropriate to THIS one, actually. People respect spies who DO NOT get caught ...and it gets real tacky when they have to be physically pulled off the gates of the Israeli consulate as they try to run like rats. Pollard was, as he did.

He isn't even worth anything, anymore. Not to us...and probably not to them, if they're honest in private.
Oh..whatever they do...I so hope this isn't ALL Obama figured would comfort Israel after the hatchet in the back he delivered them.
The Obama administration is preparing to release convicted Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard from prison, according to U.S. officials, some of whom hope the move will smooth relations with Israel in the wake of the Iran nuclear deal.
Such a decision would end a decades long fight over Mr. Pollard, who was arrested on charges of spying for Israel in 1985 and later sentenced to life in prison. The case has long been a source of tension between the U.S. and Israel, which has argued that a life sentence for spying on behalf of a close U.S. partner is too harsh. Israel has for years sought Mr. Pollard’s early release, only to be rejected by the U.S.

The U.S. has considered releasing him before but always backed away from such a move, largely because of opposition from senior leaders at the Central Intelligence Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Justice Department. When he was sentenced, then-Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger said it was hard to imagine “a greater harm to national security than that caused by” Mr. Pollard.
