I think SETI is not going to find what we classically use as communication via radio signals also used by E.T... anyone visiting us in this part of the Galaxy and a few thousand or million years more advanced than us with telepathic abilities... it ain't gonna happen IMO..

Lets say they (E.T.s) have a booster devise that amplifies their ability to telepathically communicate over long distances... ( heck they may not need it for all we know)... Every entity in their society has a biometric scan that is used to identify them and they are given a name/number or whatever..

E.T. command turns on the device and can issue orders or announcements to the few or the many regardless of where they are ...

Private orders or just saying hello would be as simple as directing the messages to the select few you wanted to communicate with... Think "contacts" on your cell phone..

O.K. I have never seen a UFO or met a Grey (or a talking worm, lizard, etal) I was just thinking about the SETI video I posted earlier today.. This seems logical to me.. ?

Anyone writing a ScFi novel you have my permission to include the idea if you find it worthy..

What needs to be determined if any of the above is even partly correct is, "THE SPEED OF THOUGHT" ? There have been some experiments during the Apollo days that while not definitive indicated when the sender sent the message there was no time delay between sender and receiver....if I remember correctly ? According to the story I read about this secret experiment, before Edgar Mitchell left for the moon in the Apollo 14 spaceship in 1971, he gave a sealed envelope to a trusted friend with the instruction not to open it until he returned to earth.

While in outer space, Mitchell, who holds a doctorate degree in science, transmitted a telepathic message to four individuals on earth. Three of them received the message correctly. According to the story, one of those to whom the message was transmitted was the well-known Swedish psychic Olof Jonsson, who was then living in Chicago. This was the same psychic whom dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. hired to help him find the fabled Yamashita treasure.

I had the privilege of meeting Jonsson personally in 1978 or 1979. I asked Olof if it was true he was one of the recipients of the telepathic message that astronaut Mitchell transmitted while he was in outer space. And he confirmed to me the story was true.

I asked him what the message Mitchell transmitted to him was. He replied that it was the symbols on the Zener cards, which Dr. JB Rhine used in his ESP experiments at Duke University. The Zener card symbols consisted of a cross, star, wave, circle and square. Jonsson told me he got all the symbols correctly, and in the exact sequence Edgar Mitchell had sent them.

Many questions but alas no answers... Guess we will have to wait until the mother ship lands.. Which I am 99% certain I will be long gone and in the dirt or up in smoke before that happens...

I wish they'd come admit to the World the Real Reason the Scraped the Saturn v Rocket and stopped going to the moon.

They had to have a Damn Good Reason other then the Lie Told about it being to expensive.

The pay back in Helium 3 alone would have paid for the venture and the mining expense.

Maybe those 'evil spirits' in the Ouija board are aliens!

I've wondered this myself... I mean, lets be logical. How long will a radio signal take to reach the nearest star? They calculate it in light years, I believe. How many years for a burst laser transmission to make the same distance...if it can make it across unknown conditions between here and there?

IF it could make it through the weirdness of space outside our solar bubble, then that burst of power would be precise and aimed so something just outside the aim would be totally oblivious. Talk about a swing and miss! Ouch!

So, it seems to me..as it does to the OP...they can't be using the same primitive tech we are by sheer issues of distance alone. They aren't close..or we'd know about them by home planet activity. So...distance matters, and our comm tech can't 'do the distance'.

Maybe we'd do better looking a WHOLE LOT CLOSER at some of the anomalies which we DO know of, and just MAY be more than some mysterious natural event in the deep cosmos. Heck, navigation is important..and beacons would be required across such empty spaces. We don't see any bea....errr..wait...yes, we DO see some..don't we? We just classify those as routine and ignore them. (sigh)

Missing the Forrest for the trees...as likely as not.
